Now, assuming your tranny has been rebuilt or has really low miles on mopar parts... then go a head and mod the motor. but if that tranny has about 80K or more... then you might want to think about saving $1000 like Bluebone suggested. you might need that for a tranny rebuild or parts for when she breaks.
these are big heavy older trucks. we ALL know the tranny is the weakest link, especially me, I am about to dump $2250 (now adding shift kit) so lets just call it $2400 to get it back to normal. once i get my tranny inline, I do have some mods in mind, but nothing near IndyRamMan's Blue Rocketship.
My goal is to get some more MPGs...
