I just dont understand why they are bringing it back, I read that in two different articles posted in the brand news and rumors section. They must be really bumping up the power in these things. My guess is that they are using the 5.9 as their lower end V8 because of weight.
I bet it is different then the 5.9 we all know and love/hate. Maybe the will get it right this time (no plenum issues, no head cracking issues, no pingin issues, etc...)
A hemi weighs more than a 5.9???? I figure the 360 would weigh more due to more Cubic inches, Does the hemi have aluminum heads

More cubes = lighter (in most cases, not like big block to small block), think about it. Say you have a 318 and a 360. They are the same block. You bore out more iron, making the 360 lighter.

You can only bore a 318 out to 390
but you can bore a 360 out to 408
or is there another explanation behind that?
I don't know why they are bringing it back either. I mean, I love mine but the Hemi's are more powerful, more efficient, and I thought they cost less to produce. Maybe something is really changing with these newer generation 5.9's; I guess we'll just have to wait and see. If only they would start making 2nd Gen body styles again and put a Hemi in it; that would be fabulous.
