Kegger Intake Mod DIY
Disconnecting the PCM from the trans disables everything. It simply won't shift. At all. It stays in whatever gear you put it in. Even the TV cable won't make it shift. I don't know enough about how the trans actually operates, but, this method is used as a test for the governor pressure sensor/solenoid. If it will manually shift thru the gears with the PCM out of the loop, but, is in limp mode, or behaves oddly with the PCM hooked up, either the sensor, or the solenoid, or both... are bad.
Old thread but got a question... I have an extra intake laying around that I want to do this to. Its from a 95 Ram but I have an 01. I know theres a few things different between the two, so what do I need to do to make it work?
You need to plug off the egr valve port and remove the center divider... be careful how much you remove.... dyno results have proven this mod just takes HP from the lower end and moves it up the rpm range... the more you trim from the runners the more power you lose in the lower rpm range.
ok question, i will be doing this on most likely an egr keg, the long runners are meant to better the low end power, what might i expect by cutting out a majority of the divider (leaving some as its function of tube support) and not touching the runners for a 5.9? Any difference? Or is the real gain only made from trimming the runners? Aiming for 2k-6k cam so would enjoy having the low end still since 1800 to 2000 is my od range at cruise.
That cam won't work worth squat with the kegger. Kegger is designed for low RPM grunt, and a bit of midrange, falls flat on it's face north of 4000 RPM. You won't be happy with that combo.
If you want to run that cam, go for the Hughes AirGap, or the Mopar M1 two barrel manifold.
