Default PITA List

The post below about the starter bolt gave me an idea for a new thread. Lets list all the royal pain in the *** parts/bolts/things that dodge egineered in our truck, because somehow complaining about such things makes me feel better about the hours of time I've spent screwing with a single bolt while cursing dodge engineers.

For me, what comes to mind first are

the location of the cap and rotor. I can't even see the damn thing when I have to fool with it

the EGR tube. Its way back behind the intake and makes putting the intake manifold back on much harder than the peice of cake job it would be otherwise.

So what pisses you off about dodge egineers?

Well it's not really a big deal, but I don't think it would have killed them to put a drain plug in the transmission fluid pan.

Cranks sensor and oil pressure sensor are definitely on my PITA list.
Fuel filter location and the fact some trucks don't have a fuel test port on the fuel rail makes the list too.

because somehow complaining about such things makes me feel better about the hours of time I've spent screwing with a single bolt while cursing dodge engineers.

The funny thing is its so sad but true. At least I'm not the only one (I feel less of a mechanic, when I can't get a single bolt off)

Well the starter bolt of course, but also the fact that the starter has to come off to drop the oil pan is a PITA. I hear alot of bad stuff about the fuel pump too, and I think I will remove my bed when that day comes.

The dashboard is nearly impossible to remove.

Really I did the front end with no problems, changed the rear with little problems (I broke the bolt that holds the gear on and had to use an extractor).

Although I will make a list of everything that comes up here, this forum let me know the starter bolt was a PITA well in advance.

IDK about the other poster but my Lug nuts are definetly a PITA. I have had quite a few snap. Have replaced IDK maybe 12 of them so far. Not that hard but a PITA
