Ram 1500 down shifting for no reason???

Default Ram 1500 down shifting for no reason???

Hello I just bought a uses 01 1500 quad cab well here is whats wrong I drive 30 miles to work 1 way all highway and it takes 1/4 of a tank each way!I set the cruise on the highway at 70 mph and it constantly shifts in to a lower gear with the cruise on and the pedal goes to the floor. it is getting me terrible gas milage here is what the truck has the first thing that may be the problem is that it came with 22 inch wheels? it has a (5.2)318 the truch is 2wd 102,000 moles fresh tuneup and nothing else I didnt know if the wheel/tire size may have something to do with it. I know there is some experts out there! Please help with any info you have to offer Thanks a bunch!

You could have a pugged cat,TPS going wide open, or brake lite switch.

well... first off.. its hot 100k on it.. if the tranny hasnt been replaced.. uh oh.. there goes 3 G's. Trait of the dodges goes something like 50k change tranny.. and I drive 30 miles all highway to and from work uses a 1/8 of a tank.. but im also pushing a struggling Tranny, god knows how many fed sensors.. and vacum problems with a V6.. good think the new tranny and 5.9 are on there way Good luck bud.
