RE: transmission issues
The only other thing I can suggest is a bad electrical connection somewhere check themand try some dielectric grease on the contact points I ripped one off when outbashing thetrails with my Grand Cherokee and my overdrive totally quit working all together and didnt noticetilI got back to the main roads. I dunno could be something in the valve body rattling around too, 265s wont be the problem thats for sure. I just dont think these trannys like low RPMs when shifting into overdrive its gotta be above 2200 not 1700 and once overdrive is engaged it drops even more like 1400 and you can kinda feel a small vibe thats where I am finding the lower gearing is solving this atleast in my situation and allowing the engine to rev up jus a tad higher and make that oil pump inside the tranny actually work andget things flowing making more solid and better timed shifts. If you had your seals replaced I am curious why they wentin the first place? bad bearings, bushings, excessive shaft play?
Mine is more of a gradual but definately noticeable slip and rise in RPMs (only rises about 300RPM) then drops back and its right on the verge of the tranny downshifting and the speed dont change however once you push into it and get it over 2500RPM in overdrive it goes away but I am also doin 80+MPH fine for a sports car butits outta the peak engine power and torque range which is up @ 3250RPM,so 2500-2650 @ 60MPH would be about right and would make passing a breeze with a good load on instead of feeling sluggish and best of all no more fluctuation just smooth power. does seem odd a bump triggers it something aint right

RE: transmission issues
Ok first I must apologize cause it ain't my tranny acting up. I took it to a good trans guy today and he drove it. It is definitely a miss. Today it backfired up the throttlebody a couple of times. Soooo....now I am back to finding the cause of the miss. I'm not throwing CEL so does anyone know if a computer can diagnos the misfire without CEL? Once again sorry for the original misinformation, this one just had me stumped.

Ahem, Told ya!
The MIL light won't come on unless it's a pretty bad constantmisfire most times.
Unfortunately fault codes and scan tools don't always point you in the right direction.
How many miles on your truck? Whats the state of the tune up? Are the plug wires original?
I mentioned above some things to look for that are easy to spot.
It might be a good idea to start with a major tune up unless your willing to take it in to someone with the proper equip to diagnose. you could probably change cap, rotor, ign wires, spark plugs, and PCV for the cost of the quick diagnosis and the shop will probably recommend these items first off unless they are very new.

RE: transmission issues
you need to have your lower intake gasket checked. or could be tune up. ANY missfire can be seen on drb missfire screen at a dodge dealer-engine light doesn't have to be on just teel them how to duplicate it so you dont wast your time and money. Probably not a cracked head unless high milage.

RE: transmission issues
yeah yeah rabbler I know you told me so! LOL Thanks for the info. BTW Bozz I thank you for the info as well. I may have to take it in to find out the problem. Basically the truck has 79000 and the wires and all are in great shape, at least they appear to be. The truck starts great idles fine but has a misfire at the lower RPM ranges such as shifting into overdrive. It is intermittent but still driveable. I dunno, maybe gonna be a tough one to diagnose without hooking it up. What do you think bozz?

RE: transmission issues
Like I said common for the wires to corrode at the cap. Only takes 1 to make it shudder like that. The wires them can look fine on the out side though. You can try spraying them with water (Windex bottle) and see if it makes them arc or the engine run rough. Easy to see in the dark, better if you can load up the engine a bit in drive with the park break on. 2 person job and be CAREFUL!

RE: transmission issues
Alright fellas I may have some good news. I am keeping my fingers crossed but I may have had water in my fuel. I have driven the truck the last two days with no miss. I noticed it was lessening when I was driving home from the tranny shop. The guy that drove it said it kinda felt like it might have water in the gas. I only put about 15 to $20 in at a time and im on the third tank and it stopped missing about halfway through this fill up. I don't know if this sounds right, so I'll run it by you guys and see what you think. Like I said I'm really hoping it was water. So far I have made it about 40 miles with no miss.
