sorry to hear about your misfortune, I gotta add that I too have NEVER had a problem getting stuff from Summit Racing. they are one of my favorite online companies to order from. their prices are usually some of the best around and they ship fast for the most part. Hell even when I ordered my 35s for my Jeep from them and they were on backorder I still got them in just over a week. Summit, Jegs, and 4Wheeldrive Hardware are my top three online companies to order from, at least for truck and Jeep parts. motorcycle and quad stuff I order from Motosport for the same reasons.

Hate to hear that. It does happen all the time, it just stinks when it happens to you. I used to have a problem with UPS leaving packages at my house in the city. Sometimes they would walk off, I also had a package that contained cash go missing. I have never ordered something from overseas and not had it "inspected". My Dad is A Plant manager for the Post office and my mom is Bulk mail sales They usually tell me all kinds of stories and I think with their volume they lose thousands of items a year.

UPS honestly has the best tracking but it seems there are times, like "bad weather" when it all gets messed up.

Well at least I have some good news UPS found my Hughes package, they said it is damaged, but I will see when I get it.

If an item is damaged in shipping, does that mean UPS must pay for the damage?
There is something in business law called FOB, freight on buyer. It designates who holds the responsibility for shipping. Basicly, if you, as a consumer, dont pay for shipping freight is on the shipper. If you pay for it, like you do with summit, its your responsability to deal with the shipper (ups). FOB designates when exactly the goods change hand from producer to consumer. You have to make your claim to UPS and persue the claim with them. If it were the reverse senario, you make your claim to the supplier (summit in this case) and persue it with them.

must?

not sure on that.

but we get damaged packages all the time (i load trucks every morning)
most from improper or poor packaging. (amazon is famous for the one piece of tape on the bottom of a big box with one small item in it..)
i know that we cut ALOT of checks every month for damaged/lost/missing packages..
call the C/S number and see what they say

The "damage" was a small dent and a wet box. They had it wrapped in plastic and very little water even got to the box. I guess UPS was just being careful. My tune-up kit is in great shape, as are my thermostat and o-rings. I am a happy camper. I just wanted it two days ago. At least I have the weekend now. Its just... well you guys know, when you are working on your truck and you are planning on something, it really stinks when an outside source messes up those plans.

Its all good now.

I would have had to get another new set of calipers even though I had just put a set on and get new brackets which wouldn't have been cheap. No reason to spend that much just to fit a set of brake pads.

Not quite yet. Im majoring in market finance and have had to take quite a few law classes. I am playing with the idea of transfering to law school.

There is something in business law called FOB, freight on buyer.
It stands for Freight On Board

The term, FOB Shipping Point, indicates that the sale occurred at the shipping point—at the seller’s shipping dock. FOB Destination indicates that the sale will occur when it arrives at the destination—at the buyer’s receiving dock.

If the sale occurred at the shipping point (seller’s shipping dock), then the buyer should take responsibility for the cost of transporting the goods. If the sale doesn’t occur until the goods reach the destination (terms are FOB Destination), then the seller should be responsible for transporting the goods until they reach the buyer’s unloading dock.

Most small retail sale is FOB shipping. The seller washes his hands of responsibility as soon as the item is on the truck.
