either:
-Drop in a 440BB. - my pick
-Install a supercharger or turbo system. = as much as 100+HP
-Buy a diesel.

word to everyone = doing burnouts are ALOT better if you are in "1"
=utilizing the band = stronger hold.

thats what i use for boosted launches.. and on stock transmission with about 130+ extra HP pushing on it.

I just have to laugh at this...What happened to being mr gung ho? I remember when you were yelling at everyone thinking you could take on the world with your 9500 lb excavator because you had a 5" lift and 35 tires. Guess you shouldnt be pretending to be a big boy.

So you bought a truck that had a failing transmission, and you're upset that it lasted 6 months? Consider yourself charmed. I mean you had to reaize you were going to have to replace it when you bought it, didn't you? Hell there's nothing wrong with my transmission and I've got an envelope marked "transmission" I throw about $10 a week in, just to soften the blow if she does go. I've heard good things about the Dr. Evil transmissions. And Jasper transmissions has a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty. Either way I don't think you'll eat up another transmission in the time you have the truck, but try to find a place with a warranty just incase.

Dammit... now instead of actually paying attention to what everyone else said he's just going to see this and you two are going to argue until the thread gets locked.

Just one more thing before I say farewell to this thread. If there are any other parts of that truck that were failing when you bought it (and you shoulnd't have bought it if it had a messed up transmission, but that's beside the point) start saving your money towards maintaining what you already have before you go out and spend hundreds of dollars on headers, exhaust, cold air intakes, or any more mods. Check the fluids everytime you get gas (you know it takes 10 minutes to fill the tank up so it's not like you don't have time). Check your tire pressure everytime you get gas. Everytime you do something stupid put $20-50 in an envelope depending on how stupid it was. This will do2 things for you in the long run.1st It'll deter you from doing anything stupid. 2ndWhen something does break you'll have the money and this really goes for anyvehicle... It never hurts have a couple of thousand dollarsstashed aside(bank account is even better) incase something goes wrong with your vehicle. It's money you're not allowedto spend unless something goes wrong with the truck, so just forget it's there, but you'll be happy you did it the next time something goes wrong and you don't have to borrow money. Cause borrowing money sucks. Been there done that, know how you feel.

Look, just wanna say i dont feel sorry for any1 that is having "transmation probloms" Once u replace the transmation, new 4x4 transfer case, all u joins full rear drive shaft, back gears from being striped, replacing almost all the wairing, all new coils shocks and back leave springs. along withthe fulltrack bar with bracket and full stearing box with linkage along with the full control arm.Once u have done all that and more then come here and complain.

That all sounds nice, but it's just more money I don't want to spend. See me, I love speeding. I'd much rather have a truck that was a middle of the road offroader, but could really speed. I need speed. I love hearing a v8 opened wide up. To me, I love a truck that can towe, pass people effortlessly, be safe on the roads when it's snowing out real hard. This truck is not safe in snow storms, it slides all over the place, it's really top heavy, high speed impaired, I hate that. But your right, maybe the whole lift thing aint for me. I just don't care for all the **** that has to be working to make it work, especially since I don't know how to do everything myself. I'd much rather have this truck back to its offroad height, which is still high, and have some nice solid 285s on her. This way she'll haul some ***, still be badass, and a sweet solid 4x4 truck. I don't need the over extensive lifted truck. 1500s are useless this high, unless like you said you compensate with heavy duty axles and ****, which I dont want to do. So lift is going back down, 285s on her, tranny being repaired. And then she will be way safer, a real working truck, and it wont be the family joke anymore, with the all show no go in working terms.

But ya see guys this transmission didn't break because of me. I know everyone thinks I romp on it all the time, but those are only for the videos. Generally, I'm a slow and cautious driver, and I really go out of my way to take care of this truck. The truck is doing what it did when I first test drove it back in July. The transmission would just keep in wining in a certain gear and not shift no matter what you did. If you let of it will just backfire, and if you keep giving it more gas, the rpms will just keep going higher and higher and higher until you want to puke. Once I'd get it into 3rd gear I was able to sustain 65 mph all the way down from Bar Harbor, but it was just a sickening feeling when I was driving through the backhills and the trucks tranny was just jumping around everywhere, and then all of a sudden I heard a little small poof and then the tranny just all together stopped biting in, so I pulled off the side of the road 150 miles away from home, and I was like ****!! Anyways the highway made it better because I was able to sustain one speed and there werent any hills. But when we pulled off to get some food, it all started up again. Trying to get back on the highway was a nightmare, it wouldnt shift again, so i pulled back on the side of the road, let it sit for a couple minutes, then i tried it again. I pulled back on the highway with some pretty good accelleration. IT'd shift at like 5rpms going into 2nd, then it would shift at all going into third unless i put it in neutral while driving and then put it back in drive, then that would let it shift into 3rd. So anyways, this whole tranny deal is EXACTLY what it did in july. They replaced some solenoid and that seemed to fix the problem. Since I've had the truck, the tranny has ALWAYS sucked. I've just been good at milking the ****er, but it's always jumping around. The tranny was so pathetic that this trip topped it off, it couldnt even handle the trip. Then I put just a simple 4 wheeler on the truck, and thats wehn it started to completely stop shifting, it's pathetic. So obviously I know everyone here thinks I did it, but this tranny did this **** when I first bought it, and since I've had it, it's always been a weak transmission, and now, its back to what it did when I first test drove it. To make this truck stable, I'd have to buy a better stabalizing kit, and heavy duty front shocks or better front shocks. And I need a new tranny. Even with that said, I still may be dissapointed. What I do know is that if I bring it back down to its offroad heigh, put a 285 on it, it will be structural, not a fake suspension if you know what i mean. Well I just got an interesting phone calltoo My grandparents called me, and they said when I left there was a big puddle of oil sitting where my truck was. PErhaps my tranny blew some kind of seal? It would explain why it was fine on the way up, and then the next morning completely ****ed up! Hmm

Looks like in 30 posts, you managed to be completely different with your driving styles exp. after Indy pulled up an old thread. Listen you can blow smoke all you want about how you don't beat on your truck. Tell us honestly how many times you've done a 0-60 vid. Better yet you talked about street racing, being fast... ect. If you wern't the cause for the failure, you were definately adding fuel to the fire. I know when your a kid you just wanna have fun, but you need to own up now and get your tranny rebuilt or a new one swap'd in. Stuff happens, but just like when I go off road. I had a powersteering pump failure last time. Shi+ happens. She became the weakest link and just the same in your case. After "milk'n her" for as long as you did, your lucky you got this far. I don't know if I seem harsh when I post but shouldnt be taken that way. Good luck as always!
