Air Cleaner Gasket
I jsut put on the Edelbrok 14x3 round air filter..i was wondering do i need ot change from the stock gasket to another gasket?? and if so what one?? also are there any adaptors i need to put on for it??
Nope, you are good. Just make sure you plug the hole for the recirculator and take the rubber hose off the breather tha would go into your stock air box. Remember to replace it when getting inspections. Performance wise you do not want crankcase air recirculating back into your engine. Enviornmentally..you do, but no one on this forum is an enviornmentalist...unless you count trying to get more MPG.
screw the breather hose, they are pointless all it does is get your air-cleaner all oily and dirty
and for the gasket, I do not have one, all I used was the MR. Gasket 1/2" spacer

They didnt have just a 1/2 spacer at Advanced auto, you had to buy a combo thing, which had two other spacers and an adapter, it only cost 9 dollars
NOTE* The spacer is not a gasket, I dont have a gasket,I dont think you really need one

Are you sure the leak is not from the hole in the bottom for the breather hose? When you have an open element you will hear a sucking sound...because your engine is breathing better. A gaske costs 2.19 at autozone. I put one on just so it would be legit, but i drove from NJ to Oklahoma without a gasket.
Tthe spacer is not needed. It doesn't add any HP or torque. Personally i would not like the air cleaner close to the top of the hood, it would constrict flow. so don't use a spacer, thats just my .02
