Hey guys.. I cant remember, but I thought i heard something on here about being able to put a smaller tire on a bigger rim? True or not? Wondering if I cant put my brothers 15 tires on my stock 16's? thnx

 

I ain't ever heard of that one. I probably wouldn't attempt it. Maybe someone else's heard of doing that b4 tho.... iunno.

Hmm MUST have been something else I read them.. Ok since they wont fit.. do you think there would be any chance of me finding some 15' rims for my 99 dodge ram 1500 2wd? If so what vehicle wouldI need to look for?

 

your probably thinking width, not wheel size. I have a pair of tailgunners f/s 15"x10 if you want them. Otherwise, I guess a ramcharger or 1st gen ram for factory 15", there are a couple aftermarket wheels. Your looking for 15" wheels with a 5x5.5" boltpattern, backspacing and width at your disgression.I would think about getting tires that fit my wheels rather than the other way arround...its usuially cheeper. What size are the tires your brother is giving you?

 

I couldnt tell you the dimensions.. there some where around 31's.. and I understand were it would be cheaper.. but i was just going to get some rims from a junk yard that could get me by. Cant put my new rims and tires on at the moment without a lift.

 

look for some pre 97 ford rims. They have the same bolt pattern as our dodges. the factory aluminum rims from the 92-96 ford f150's look pretty sweet...similer tothe american racing baja rims...

do you know that they fit from experience? From what I remember from working in a tire shop the hubs on the fords are a lot smaller than the dodge's.

 

Not happening............Kinda like tryin to fit 4 fat chicks in a single cab truck......lol
