Default Transfer case problem - Help..!!

Hi,

I have a 94 Ram 2500 4x4 with the NP241 Transfer case (52099041). Recently, the driveshaft bolts sheared and the front shaft put a hole in the case. I need to find the front half of the case or even a replacement case so I can get back on the road.

My question is...do I have to find a 52099041 model NP241 DLD case, or will any NP241 case half fit on mine? Also, is any other model able to fit and hook up to my linkage?

What other problems might I have?

Any help is greatly appreciated..!!!!

Thanks,
Joel in Idaho.

I think any 241 case will work off of a dodge.
You might have to swap over a few parts of you get one off a newer truck though.
e.g. tail housing, front yolk, etc

As for getting just a case replacement, any 241 should work. The first D designates Dodge (slightly wider chain than Jeep or Chevy, if chev's ran the 241). The front of the cases should all be the same though. The rear tailshaft depends on the year because some years ran the speedo off a sensor in the case, some didn't, you'll have to look for the sensor sticking out of the tailshaft to know.
