Well should I go get this stuff changed out ASAP or is it ok to leave it in there for a couple weeks? I won't be driving much but when I do it will be to a job, therefore I'll be making money to change fluids and all that. I plan on going with RP oil soon, so I may take it to a shop and have them change the oil, tranny and a coolant flush. I can do those here, but the mess it would make wouldn't be worth it.

I wouldn't worry about it too much if at all. The trans fluid isn't going to cause a failure.
Yes the Chrysler spec is now ATF+4. It used to be Plus+3, then plus 2 and originally DEXRON. These are not an overly sophisticated trans and basic design hasn't changed much in 20+ years. Fluid type is not critical like it is is some of the FWD Chrysler vehicles.
There are LOTS of trans shops that will fill these with DEX III /IV and they work just fine.
Do what you will but it's not that big of a deal.

Yup this stuff is under $5 at Walmart. I want to say it was like $4.89 a quart or soemthing like that but it was around $5 and the dealer wanted around $11 a quart for the same Mopar branded stuff. It's quite a bit cheaper to get it from Wal-Mart.

the mobil stuff was 3.09 a qt. IDK it ran exceptionally smoother with it in there. As soon as I feel something weird and I have the funds, I'll change it out and put the Mopar +4

I just bought this Magnaflow one.
Direct bolt in.
More expensive than just buying just the converter section but easier to install for a DIY'er.

http://www.hottexhaust.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=23285

The shipped out really fast and shipping was included.
I haven't installed it but it looks to be better quality than the OEM and more free flowing. So far I'm impressed.
I think they have a 10% off sale now and may offer additional discounts to Military and Internet forum enthusiasts
I started a thred based on this bolt on unit, please if you can, add to the thread with your experience and any pictures. Thanks!!!!

At NAPA they have some ATF+4 fluid, I can't remember if it was Valvoline or NAPA brand. Any word on how well that stuff works? I think most will concur that Mopar fluid should be in Mopar products, but if I can get something cheaper, possibly better then I'd rather go for that. Then again if RP makes an ATF+4 fluid, I'd jump on that.

I haven't seen a ATF +4 from RP.

Why not just go to Wal-Mart and get the Mopar ATF+4 for $5 a quart? It seems to be the best. It's what everyone I know or have talked to has said to run including Wayne at APS who really seems to know his stuff. He told me I could run what I wanted but he recommended the Mopar ATF+4 as it seemed to be the best.

Well this stuff at NAPA was 3.19 a qt. The labels were all over the place though so don't hold me to that price, it was just the tag under the bottle.

I'd pay the extra $1.80 a quart and get the stuff that is proven but if you want to try the Napa stuff out thats your choice. As finicky as these trannys are I wouldn't try and save money and just get the stuff thats proven to be good.
