As for the gears, it's looking like there going to blow me off on that. They may do it for me when they are fixing the rear pinion seal, but I doubt it. It's looking like I'm going to have to check it myself when I get the truck back next week. What's the best way to jack up the rear of my truck guys?

You'll probably need a highlift jack since your truck is lifted. Either that or you can stack bricks or boards on a regularfloor jack. But a highlift jack is ideal.

Ok, thank you. That was my only concern though, I don't really have anything like that. You can also just roll the truck too right? I might just find a flat empty parking lot and have my brother help me out.

Ahh hope my truck is going to be done for tomorrow!....I just have this gut feeling it's going to take till Tuesday or Wednesday, you know how it always goes..

Today when I was with one of my clients I was at a stop light in the van. Directly across from me, facing me at the other light, was this big new 2008 f-350. Had the giant chrome billet grille, thing was just looking insanely beasty. So I rolled my window down, and waited for the light to turn green so I could hear her pass me. Light turned green, and that 6.4L diesel went whiseling by, just about gave me shivers down my spine....BUT THEN, to top it off, in the far distance I saw this big tall red truck pull out across the street. And I knew exactly what it was. It was IDENTICAL to my truck, only in Red lol. Had the extra lift and the giant tires going on, was amazing. My god, I got so excited, it was pathetic...I rolled my window down further, and listened to it roar by. Had this beautfiful tone, must have been a magnaflow muffler, wasn't too excessively loud, but it still roared nicely. Even was the offroad edition with those sweet 17" rims. It was just too much to handle at once for me, two cool trucks going by, and one looking like mine, ahh I was just in day dream world. All it made me do was want my truck back so bad, I fricken love that thing lol...anyways, hopefully I'll have it tomorrow, it's been over 3 weeks!!

I sure hope you weren't abusing yourself while those trucks drove by.

Guys...I am ****ed ****ed ****ed

Transmission shop just called me. He says they are just finishing up the rear pinion seal, and the truck is done and I can pick it up today. But guess what?? He says my posi unit in the rear diff. needs to be replaced. He says it's shredding metal in the ****ing rear and says it's only getting worse. He says $960 to do the job. Where the **** am I going to come up with $1,000 more dollars?! I just took out $4,000 and I am already sick to my stomach about it. And I have no way to get that money. I don't want my parents to find out, they'll be even more sick. They already think I'm an idiot for having this truck. WTF. I'm already overwhelmed with the transmission, and now I got to do deal with this today? What am I going to do guys????

Are your ring and pinion gears damaged, or just the posi? If just the posi, tell them to remove the posi, and just make your rear diff an open diff. That's how most trucks are from the factory. If the gears are damaged, then yes, you need new gears. You could save a lot by regearing without a posi. That should only run you about $500-$600 for gears, install kit, and labor. The posi unit is going to add another $300-$400.

FYI, this is why it's not a good idea to do burnouts with 35" mud tires.
