I brought it back again today. Course it worked right when he got in the truck. I told him the truck couldn't open up. So I pulled off the side of the road and waited for everything to be clear. Then he said ok go for it. So I floored it, and it went to 5,000 rpms shifted, then went to 5,000 rpms shifted and we were going 85 mph...so I looked like a big retard... He told me since it's a performance transmission, I'm going to loose some smoothness during casual driving. He said it's adjusted right now for performance. When I'm on it, it's ready to go ***** to the walls. But casual driving, the shift points are a little harder, and the engine load is different. So then I said ok, watch this. And I mashed it at 45 mph and the truck took off and we were going 85 mph with pedal to move. I don't get it, it wouldn't do that for me the other night. He said he thinks I have to get used to the transmission. He said it's adjusted differently than the stock setup. He said casual driving is going to be different because its a heavyduty performance transmission. With that said, I don't know...I guess it makes sense. He said the torque converter was from ProLock. He said everything in the transmission is premium, he didn't go into details, but he said they didn't reuse any parts and everything is new and heavy duty. Anyways, I guess I looked dumb. The truck opened up magnificantly and I had never felt the truck move so fast. I don't want to speed, but I just want to know it has the ability, which is nice. So right now I'm having a shop seal my exhaust leak, and it should be good to go. Thank you guys. And he did have to do a minor adjustment to the tv cable like ya guys said, so you were all right, and thank you for that. I was able to tell him what I thought it was, and he adjsuted it. Another note. I was going 65mph down the highway and my rpm is at 1800 rpms. What does that mean? Didn't it used to be at like 2200 rpms?? Thanks guys. THE THREAD CAN DIE[8D]

Did he adjust the TV cable before you went for the drive? Thats how mine was after adjusting it properly. My guess when they wont go into detail about whats in it other than saying it's premium as it's probably not all that heavy duty. It's probably mostly a shift kit installed in it if even that and maybe a few others things.

dude you just need to retire from this forum. as many people have said before, this is a self help forum. not a pep talk to go to the mechanic forum.

lol what? I don't know man, the transmission ordeal really isn't something I can do it myself. Without the help of the forum, I wouldn't have known what to say to the guy at the shop to adjust the tv cable. Trust me, I don't like having to deal with all of this stress either, I've had to be the one who endured this month long process, it's been rough. Besides, it's all over now, don't get all worked up on me bro![8D]

Yeah there are a lot of guys on here including myself that don't mind giving him advice on what to go tell the shop. Like he said how would he have known what to tell them was wrong if we hadn't been here to tell them? Or how would he know that his new transmission wasn't right if we weren't here to tell him that it's not normal. He is asking for help and maybe you don't want to help him but there are a lot of us here myself included that don't mind offering some help to him. I know when I need help on stuff I hope people are nice enough to help me even if I end up having a shop do the work.

Maybe it's time for him to go on over to Pavementsucks.com. The guys over there seem to know quite a bit and actually not mind helping. You don't seem to get replies quite as fast as you do here anymore but it's usually something very helpful and not just bashing the poster.

+1 pavementsucks.com is the place to go for good advice. They won't put up with dumb**** over there though, so be warned.

I keep seeing soo many mis informed people trying to act like they know it all on here. Then they come back telling him that it's a DIY forum and not to tell him what to have a shop do. I'd hate to see if he did it himself listening to some of these guys. There are some people over here than know a ton but there are others that talk like they do and anyone that knows better knows they have no idea what they are talking about. Yet they like to then complain because he didn't do it himself by listening to them. I'd be afraid to see how it would turn out if they did it. Like saying thats just how HD trannys shift and it's normal to get used to it. Thats a load of crap.
