Hi all. I am new to this forum. Its my first post. I just bought my truck the other day and I was wondering what I can do to make it a beast. Its a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 5.2 V8 and its 2WD. Money really doesnt matter but I dont wanna spend TOO much. Im planning on fixing it up around summertime. Any ideas would be appreciated. Please tell me what to do and how much it would cost roughly.

I would tuck some aside for normal "Dodge" repairs. such as plenum, bearings, tranny, and catalytic converter.

how many miles?

most people like to addmods like, intakes, and exhausts.

14 by 3 Open element air cleaner, 1.7 Roller Rockers, Fastman 50mm Throttle body, Modded Intake manifold,Headers of some sort, High Flow Cat, Performance PCM flash.............Those are the basics....The list gets bigger if you have a really thick wallet

Just kidding. There's tons of stuff to do. Figure out what type of mods you are interested in then use the search function. There's a ton of things that can be done. But by having an idea of what type of mods you want to do, then you can ask questions about those instead of just general "what can i do". Welcome to the forum.

 

thanks guys and by the way it has 81000 miles. I dont know too much about trucks or cars for that matter but i was thinking a lift, headers, intake, and exhaust with some nice tires. but would i have to do anything more so the engine can handle all that?

 

what size tires do you want ? gotta look at the gears , and that it self is not cheap 2000-2500 for a shop to do it.

 

Nah, he's got a 2wd, you can get that geared for under $1000.

 

well i got the truck really cheap (6000) and on kbb its like 8000. do you guys think i should sell it and buy a better one. maybe 4x4. or better yet a cummins diesel!? how much do you think that would run me?

 

If you can make money on it i say go for it. I doubt you're going to find many people on here who prefer 2wd over 4wd or gas over diesel. It depends on what you want to do with your truck.

 

yeah i can make money and i wouldnt sell it on here. id sell it on craigslist. i live in a mostly mexican town and they all want pickups. but do you think i can get a diesel for around 7500 or 8000? or how much am i lookin at. i want a 4x4 extended cab short bed
