Sorry, I did not understand what he was doing, but he should just drop the cummins in too while he is at it

He means the transmission, not the engine, lol.

Unless you have a Regular cab short bed truck, or it's of sentimental value, or in extrodinarily good shape it would probably be the better bet to go buy a 2500 with a cummins in it.
However to do the swap all you need is a donor truck, and then swap pretty much EVERYTHING over. The Engine, Transmission, transfer case, Axels, suspension, wiring, radiatior, pretty much everything under the hood.
I'm toying with the idea of doing it myself. If I find a 94-96 Cummins turbo Diesel somewhere that's been in a rear end collision or something you'd better beleive I'm going to grab up on it.
Those old 12 valve cummins areawesome motors.
