Default Auto to Manual Conversion

I found a deal for a 2500 with a diesel and a manual tranny. If I bought it would everything fit in my 1500 with a new bell housing?

According to everything Ive read. You'll need the transfer case too, but that's no biggie since you have a donor truck. All the wiring behind the dash. Pretty much everything.

Youwill probably need the front and rearend too..........I think the cummins would shred a 9.25 and D44

You may as well switch it all if you have the truck. That's what i'd like to do down the road if I can get my hands on a wrecked CTD at a decent price.

Sorry, I did not understand what he was doing, but he should just drop the cummins in too while he is at it

I agree, that would be sweet but it is a TON of work. I have seen it done and is no weekend project.

Unless you have a Regular cab short bed truck, or it's of sentimental value, or in extrodinarily good shape it would probably be the better bet to go buy a 2500 with a cummins in it.

However to do the swap all you need is a donor truck, and then swap pretty much EVERYTHING over. The Engine, Transmission, transfer case, Axels, suspension, wiring, radiatior, pretty much everything under the hood.

I'm toying with the idea of doing it myself. If I find a 94-96 Cummins turbo Diesel somewhere that's been in a rear end collision or something you'd better beleive I'm going to grab up on it.
Those old 12 valve cummins areawesome motors.
