Tranny speed sensor is located in the overdrive housing, drivers side, 2-wire connector. Should be the only connector on the OD housing.

If your Dodge has the digital readout for mileage below the tachometer/temp gauge, you can get any codes it might have by doing the "key to on" trick.
Not really related as I can't help with your problem but I have 2000 Ram 1500 Magnum and have just tried the '3 turns of the key trick'.
There is nothing wrong with the Ram but I gave it a go as I hadn't heard of it until reading about it on here.
Anyway, the display read 'P DONE' so for the guys with the 98/99s it might work. Does anybody know the meaning of 'P DONE'???
Thanks.

Just got the code it was P0740 Torque convirter clutch no RPM Drop at lock up. What does this mean? How do you tell if torque converter is bad? After draining out some fluid I took the truck for a drive and I lost everything. I mean park, drive, second, and first. I shut it off and restarted and It was working again, but would not shift out of first by itself. Moving the shifter sometimes it would shift and sometimes not.

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!!!!!

Shifting linkage seems to be working fine.

Ok I checked the fluid hot ideling and in neutral and it showed over full. I just checked it with the engine shut off and Ii shows the same reading it did ideling in nutral. Pump???
Check fluid level with engine running and truck in Drive. Ask someone to sit in the drivers seat (saves you getting run over by your own truck).
