Mouse/Squeak Noise?
I was driving with my windows down and would hear a squeak sound as my tires would rotate faster. My initial thought was maybe the bearings need more grease? I don't have any of the high-temp stuff, just petroleum jelly where i'm at. Any ideas? At idle there is no squeak sound.
Does it only squeak when the tires are rolling and stop when you come to a stop? If yes, have you had your brakes checked? Brake pads will make a squeak or squeal when they are getting low.
Uhhh let me try to answer that correctly, lol. Yes the sound occurs when rolling, and no, it doesn't occur when stopped. I was planning on changing out my pads and what not on all four tires; hopefully hawk ceramics up front and i'll have to look into what's best for the rear; but my initially planned funding for my truck this year has literally been cut in 1/4. Major bummer, but life happens.
The rears are drums usually (unless you had the 4 wheel disc option), and I have not done enough research to tell ya whats best for them.
But the Hawks are definitely not a bad choice at all. Heard many good things about them.
You're right, life happens. Had a big budget planned for more stuff with my truck after the Fastman TB thats on order... performance ignition, electric fans, and a few other little things. Then my wife's computer decided to take a dump and I ended up forking out some $$$ to buy her a new one. Would build her one, since thats what I do for a hobby, but she wants a laptop. Can't really build those, at least, not cheaper than it is to walk out and buy one from Best Buy or an Apple store. I'm lucky I managed to come with enough to pay for the Fastman still.
So yep, I completely understand.

Yeah, sold my 75 Nova for 700 bucks, lord knows I wish I didn't have too, but these Dodge Trannies need fixin. I was lucky 1000 dollars has got me going. Unlucky because that's all the money I had. Started working at a Target down the street up here, so whatever little bit of money I make goes to my cell phone, gas, savings, and mods. I can't complain, right now i'm not having to pay for anything else BUT that.
Anyway, your sayin I should replace my front pads? Well since I plan on doing that in a month, if my funds are right, I want to get new shocks up front as well. Mine suck, lol. Hey, also, I can't get the cover for the stock rim back on up front. IDK what happened, my dad took them off, and I can't put them back on. Even pounded on them with a rubber mallet. Is there something I missed?

Well, without looking, I can't tell you its your pads for 100% positive. Thats just the thing I would have checked out first, because from what you've told me that is the most likely cause IMO.
I work at Best Buy, but my wife is a RN, so thats how I get most of my money.

EDIT: Are you meaning an actual cover that covers the whole rim, or just the center cap that fits into the center of the rim?

koybow is your truck 4wd?
front - axle u-joint will squeak as they go dry and start wearing out. axle bearings could squeak, as well as brakes. jack it up and rotate each side by hand and see if you can identify it further.
rear - drive shaft u-joints can squeak. mine went out about 125k. starting squeaking, then stopped, then started vibrating and when i next checked the grease seals had fallen off and all the needle bearings had also fallen out. check with wheels chocked, neutral, all tension off drive shaft. inspect/wiggle u-joint. should be no slop at all.

Check out this TSB maybe. I had the same type squeek you described on my truck, and I performed these steps. Took care of the squeek. It is caused by the axle shaft excluder seal making contact with the axle housing as the axle shaft rotates.

Well, my truck is a 2wd.
Yes my center caps. Not the whole thing. I wish I could figure out how to post pictures in my profile for yall to see.
What consists of a hub bearing? If you were talking about a 4x4 it wouldn't apply to me. But I know I took my bearings off to do the balljoints and I tried packing them as well as I could.
