Default Truck value

The truck is up and running after the fire. Got a new alternator, but just needed a battery. Oh well.

Now i found out that i have to go to Korea in August. so i am gonna sell the dodge. What can I expect to get for it? Here are the specs:

Green 1996 SLT laramie 5.2 4x4 reg cab short bed, camper top (same color as truck)
145,000 mi (New tranny dealer installed @ 74000 mi, new converter dealerinstalled @ 96,000)
Mopar Performance PCM
MSD 6AL ingition
Hypertech coil
Ford Motorsport Bosch 24# injectors
Fastman 50mm TB
Edelbrock TES Ceramic coated stainless headers
Magnaflow Exhaust (Sidepipes)
Fitch Fuel Catalyst
Open element
3 inch Rancho suspension lift with 5 way adjustable shocks
Black American Racing rims with 33 inch tires BFG All Terrain
herculinered rocker panels

Water pump replaced @ 105k
New tie rod ends
New ball joints
New brake rotors
New U Joints (both driveshafts)
New Alt/battery
New Front rotors
New tires

Premium sound, CD/MP3 player
Tow package

I am thinking 4500 is a fair price. KBB says 4800 (private sale), and no matter what you performance stuff you have, people still go by blue book. Unlessanyone thinks I should go higher.

Not gonna sell till august though. I still need it for transpo purposes till then.

Due to the milage and age and the fact that it had a fire I'd pay a max of 3,000 but thats just me. I have no idea what others would be willing to pay.

If you still have the original parts, it may be wise to reinstall them and part the other stuff out on ebay.

Ah, 3000 seems pretty good. The fire is the only bad thing about it. Everything else runs exceptional. If i can't get 3500 for it, then i will just replace the goodies with stock and keep them for the next second gen I buy. PCM, fastman and MSD. THe exhaust is too much of a headache because everything is welded. The only drawback is that i need to buy a throttle body. But they are easy to come by.

Trade-in valueis 3300, so 3000 is way to low. Yeah there was a fire, but it was fixed, you can't tell and it was never reported.

Ebay will take me too long,I already thought of that.

Yeah but in most states isn't it illegal if you know about something like that and chose not to disclose it to the buyer and he finds out. I've heard of people talking about that before but I don't know exactly what the law is. I'd be honest and up front and tell them about the fire though.

Take it to CarMax. A co-worker took their jeep wrangler there, a 4cyl Auto 4x4 (they don't do well around here, too under powered) and they gave her BB private sale value in a check. she used that $$ to buy a car at another dealership.

I might take my VW Golf there and see what they offer.

Indy,
PM me for the specifics. I can be your buyer. Even if it is burned. At least i can keep my fastman. The MSD is a gem as well. Iwould keep my truck if I didn't have to go to korea and i really want an excuse to get a 2001 Extended cab later on down the road. I love these trucks.

98,
Thanks for the info. At least I have an "out" if it gets down to crunch time. Sounds like a pretty good deal.

I have put a lot of money into the truck prior to my move from NJ to Oklahoma (hence the NEW everything)just to make sure it was 100% reliable (Still, Ithrew a belt inVAcause of a bad idler pulley!!!).
