Default muffler

I just put an xelerator 1 into 2 muffler and in my opinion it sounds like crap. he had a raven and that sounded alot better. the xelerator was over a hundred dollars and no way was it worth it. its so quiet. what is a good muffler for the 5.2 that already has dual pipes

Brownie

IT is not the noise but the flow that is important. The sercet to the exhust is the flow.

Horses are not always noise. Do you want to make noise or run like H*ll??

That's why I went with the Flowmaster Super 44. Loud as hell, and flows as good as any of its competitors. Best of both worlds.

I'm not doubting you but I've heard others say the Flowmasters didn't flow as good as others. I don't know if this is true or not. My honest opinion is there is so little gain from a muffler I'd just get one that sounds good. Sound is pretty much the only reason I'd get a aftermarket muffler anyway. I'm sure it helps in power some but chances are you won't feel a big difference.

I was curious about that. I was thinking, "these guy brags about his truck dragging 1500 around like nothing, yet he uses audiolites. he knows something nobody else does!" haha.

I have the Super 44 on a single 3" pipe, from the y-pipe in front of the converter all the way back. The shop that I had it installed at has a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Sport with the 360 that has a dual 2.25" cat-back setup with a Magnaflow on it. I originally listend to it, and liked it, so I asked them to put one of those on, along with a high flow catalytic converter.

Well, when they found out my exhaust system was already mostly 3" from the front to back, they told me they didn't have a Magnaflow that would fit. So they asked me if I would like a Flowmaster Super 44. I said OK.

Not that Magnaflow is a bad muffler, but the Supper 44 is louder. And I love it.
