Does anyone know the diamater of the door speakers on the doors and the rear interior panels of a reg cab?I had a car i ended up getting rid of that had a kickin stereo system in it and i wanna replace the speakers in the doors but dont wanna go thru the hassle if there the wrong sizes.
thanks
pat
The door speakers are 6"x9" ovals. But they're very thin to allow room for the window to go down. I bought some very good Pioneers to go in and there was no way in HELL they would fit. Not sure what the rear ones are. You can find the info at www.crutchfield.com
Thanks for the info.I wanna upgrade the system some but not dramitically and keep the interior stock looking exception for the deck.I had the big systems but i am done and like the clean look of stock.
thanks
pat
Like Snafu said, the fronts are 6x9's and it's a tight fit. I went with a set of Kicker K693's up front, and they barely fit. I don't know what size the rear are, because I don't even use them (the front speakers and a 12" subwoofer are more than enough for a regular cab...for me anyway). If you follow the Crutchfield link he posted, you should be able to look up not only the speaker sizes, but the mounting depths too.
they are a tight fit i had the kickers too, but then i has=d a set of infinity 6x9 put in they are so damn tight but nothing is held up by the install. the rear speakers are 51/4
oops my bad didnt see the reg cab thing i have a ext cab
Like everyone said, use 6 x 9 for the door. I went with some Eclipse SE8392 6 x 9 and they fit and sound great. I have an ext cab, so i can't help with the back set up.
Thanks alot dodgethunder09,I bought some great pioneer 6x9's to put in my 99 reg.cab only to find out they were way to big and wouldn't allow my window to roll down.now i know what will fit and sound great also,.....thanks griz
i just went though the same think about 3 weeks ago... i got a pair of infinity 6x9 and they fit perfect... sound amazing too, for $170 CDN. i also do not use the rear speakers, and have no sub, still sounds great
yeah those infinities are sweet. i love mine. i dont use the rears yet, but plan on repkacing them with infinity as well. then im putting in the preformed sub box from mtx under the rear bench that holds 2 10s. should turn out good.
