I have to agree...had the fake dual on a Ramcharger. Looked nice but nothing big on performance.

I put on headers and had a shop fabricate and install dual turbo mufflers and pipes...big difference in sound and performance.

My V10 is getting the same treatment this month...time to get rid of the 4 banger sound on the engine.

I'd like to see some pics of manifold removal. Seems like everyone with headers had a hard time removing the manifold. Replacing them with headers and a good gasket seems to do the trick though.

Do the manifolds run into the y pipe with a clamp or is that a weld? I can't tell if mine are bolted in or what, didn't really get under there either though. Sorry for being lazy, lol.

CEREAL! Aww cmon you mean to tell me the 40's are louder?! Well the 44's still have the performance edge i would hope.. why else would they bring out a new muffler?! From what I understand. the 40's are loud, super 40's are performance. and the 44's were loud and performence?! Hell, i might just go with the 30's! OFF ROAD! [sm=crossbonesgif.gif]
lmao...theres no such thing as a performance muffler.

kowboy the shorties are bolted to the y pipe. Theres 2 bolts on each side. As for the manifold removal it can be a pain esp if you snap off a bolt. I would def get better gaskets. I will be taking my headers off to replace the gaskets cause the one blew out. Beings your lazy as well I would get the locking header bolts. Having to cheack the bolts every so often sucks.I think thats part of my problem I checked it maybe twice and thought they would be fine.

I don't care if the fake duals don't do anything for performance. I got them for looks. I have my Mustang for performance

Obviously Indy. From my understanding the 44's were supose to help with performance...

You all making me think too much!

Super 44 or 40 series? Performance over sound is my objective. But man I do love the deep sound.

Also anyone got DIY for header replacement to make my truck a true dual out?

I cant personally tell you what the 44's sound like. The 40's are obviously very well known.. so if you want to be sure in what your buying go with the 40's. My double coins.

for the same weight of exhaust components
a single out will give higher performance and lower full throttle backpressure

if a dual and single system give the same backpressure
the single system will be slightly lighter in weight
and the vehicles will therefore accelerate ever so slightly quicker
