Default really dumb question

anyone know the wrench/socket size I need to use on the belt tensioner to remove the serpentine belt on a 98 360 cid? Before I strip the thing, I need to know if it's metric or sae. As I am hearing that the engines are using metric. But for some reason, my sae have worked on the valve cover bolts and the oil drain plug. I cannot remember what I used in the past, I know it was sae, but it looks like it wasn't the right one from the looks of the bolt now.

I actually stopped the process to post this question so as not to f#*k up the bolt as I am wising up in my old age.

thanks for any info

Is the tensioner spring loaded, in which case you just swing it out of the way to remove the belt.

I'm not sure of the size, but I KNOW it is metric. So use the metric wrench that fits. It is one of the only pieces under your hood that requires a metric wrench.

Todd: I don't think he is planning on removing the tensioner. He was just asking for which size wrench to use for leverage so he COULD swing the tensioner away from the belt.
