I used the herculiner before and it isn't worth the time or expense, at least not for me on any exterior surface exposed to sunlight. It did coat very well and looked great for a couple of months. After that, it seemed to get bleached and dried out from the sun. It went from a nice black color to a chalky dark gray. I spent a lot of time prepping the surface before applying it to ensure the best quality end product. It helped with making it stick, but nothing could help with the fading and it turning flat and chalky. I personally will never use it again for any surface exposed to sunlight. I have used it since on the interior floor of my work van and it has worked quite well! It of course is never directly exposed to sunlight.

Yeah, the herculiner kit kind of scared me. Seemed like a lot of work for something that doesn't last very long either. That's why I was hedging more towards the duraliner drop in. I have that big loan right now, so I don't really want to be dropping $500+ for a spray in when I don't really use the bed that much, and people don't ever even see inside the bed lol. I just kind of want to start wrapping the truck up and making it look new and clean. I put a lot of money into that damn transmission, so I kind of just want to take it easy on the money I put into the truck and just enjoy it being clean and fresh. I think the drop in liner will complete the look of the truck. I hate seeing that bare scratched up bed in the back, just doesn't fit in lol. Maybe down the line I'll get a linex, but for now, I want something that looks nice, wrap the truck up, and actually protect the bed a little more when I do use it...I do like linex though, but I just don't think it'd be smart to put that much money into a bed liner right now, what ya think?

Why does everything have to always get so negative? Why can't you just come onto the thread, and just say, "Gee man, I think herculiner is actually a really nice product if you take your time and do it right, look how mine came out". I don't get why I always have to be subject of ridicule, it's just a simple question man. I've never gotten negative with anyone before, I can't really see how I could seeing that it's just trucks we're talking here...

And yes, your bed looks really good. It's making me think twice now about herculiner. But at the same time, it's making me think twice about why your being such a dick about it... So now that you've expressed your luck with the product, how much does the kit cost? How long did it take you to prep your bed and then how long did it take you to do the coats? Also, how long have you had the product on your bed?

i just got a bed mat, it cuts to fit the bottom of the bed perfectly. plus it vents underneath the mat so you dont have to worry about rusting. cost me 50 bucks and is about 3/4 in think. havent had any complaints yet

I just had my RinoLiner put in yeasterday, i had HD + railing. Was abit expensive but well worth it. All said and done was 495. I would never do a drop in b/c of the water being able to get under it and u have to drill holes and **** and + if u dmg it you have to replace the whole thing.

i would aslo recomend the herculiner kits, nothing worng with them at all. You save yourself a ton of money by not getting a spray in liner and it doesnt wreck your bed like a plastic liner does. The sun does fade the herculiner, yes i will agree with that.It does stay strong and durable though, butI think theres a care kit that you can get to keep it looking nice, but i cant say anything for it becuase i never have used it. The kit is normaly like 80 dollars or so and it does take about a day to do the whole thing. I have done 4 or 5 pick-up bed with it i think and everyone of themhas had great results. I have had the stuff on my truck about a year and it still looks good(sorry no pics). I would give it a try and if you dont like it you could always put something else on top of it in a year or two if that would be an option?

The fading is what I also hear bad about the Herculiner.

I am actually thinking about a DIY bedrug using indoor outdoor carpet. But I may just buy one. It seems arug would be gentler on the bed. The truck came with a liner & a cap. Cap is for sale & I am worried that the liner has sratched up the bed.

The truck is more of a hobby & toy than for serious work. So the rug is for the look.

'Uh, that price just really hits me in the stomach lol. I just don't want to throw down that much for something I really don't care too much about. I just want it to look nice, and protect the bed from dents...If linex were like $300, then I'd do it. Got any pix of the rhino??
