what, in your opinion, is the better sounding and performing muffler for the 318?

gibson, flowmaster, magnaflow?

I like the Flowmaster tone on most V8's.

I prefer the flowmasters on the magnum engines, but that's just my opinion.

Muflers dont make power. Get what sounds best to you. spintechs hands down imo. I like my flowmasters but they are too loud

I have my exhaust dumped right behind the cab and then an 18 inch glasspack followed by a 5in tip. it sounds nice and I am louder than most of the dodges here in town. The only other thing you could get to really make it loud is a single chamber flow. I have a buddy with that and it sounds nice and loud.

I've got a Gibson cat back on my truck (previous owner installed) and I don't care for it... way to quiet, and it's only now sounding decent because there's a hole forming in the muffler [:@]

I've got a buddy with an Aero Turbine on his truck and it sounds mean! I think that's the route I am going to go too when i get around to replacing my system.

I'm running Gibson headers..(shorties)....was running the gibson muffler.. as stated by a previous post.. too quiet..I didnt want it getting me pulled over by the VA state troopers.. but did want it heard.. plus, I spent good change on the TB and headers so I tried the Magnaflow..didnt like it as much as I did the Flowmaster.... stayed with the 40 model...it wasnt worth it to me for the extra money for the super 44's.. there wasnt a great deal of difference in the sound to me..very slight...

My shop was going to sell me a Magnaflow muffler, but discovered they didn't have the size on hand that I needed (single 3" in/out), so they offered me a Flowmaster Super 44. The Super 44 was cheaper, so I went that route. I never did ask about the 40 series.

I do love the sound of mine though. Someday here I will get headers, and it'll be even louder. Someday...

My Super 44 will be here on the 26th. I may have made a mistake though. I got an offset in and center out. Hope that does not make a difference. It is going on anyway.
