Default Stop Locking doors

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram Sport and Ido not have an owners manuel for it...I am trying to figure out how to stop my doors from locking when I drive the vechile. or if I could figure out how to make them unlock when I put the vechile in park that would work too. Its driving me nuts because I drive somewhere...the doors lock...I stop get out(drivers door unlocks by pulling on handle) go to the passenger side to get my kids out...and the door is still locked over there. Any insights to this issue would be great
Thanks
James

My 2005 Yukon XL does the same thing; however, I programed it to. I went into the program by dorking around with the buttons on the steering column. It gives you a yes/ no on/off question. Regardless, if you don't lock the doors, it will when you get to speed for safety reasons.

Here's an idea. Just push the "unlock" button before you get out of the truck.

ok so I understand the nature of the saftey feature of the doors locking once the vechile is in motion, but I thought in that case the doors would unlock when the vechile is put into park. Is that a feature that the 01 Ram came with? I had a vechile that did not auto lock so I am having a hard time with remembering to unlock the doors when I get out of the car. Thats just seems like a odd thing to get used to doing when leaving your vechile.

Striaght out of the book..
1. Close all doors.
2. Place the key in the ignition and cycle the key from the OFF position to the ON position for a total of 4 times ending in the on postion. DO NOT START ENGINE.
3. Press the drivers side door lock switch to lock the doors within 30 seconds.
4. You will hear a single chime when programming is completed and the automatic door locks feature will be deactivated.
5. To enable th feature again, follow the above steps again.

Almost all vehicles anymore have ways of disabling features such as the auto-door locks or the seatbelt warning. You think the one above is annoying to perform, check out the super duty seat belt chime disabling protocol.

Thanks Dontdodgeitramit, I got it done. I tried a few times with no sucess...gave up because I needed to go pick up my kids. once home I tried one last time didn't hear a chime, figured I still did not get it. Woke up this mornin to go to work and the doors don't lock when I hit 15mph anymore. I must have got it on that last unchecked try. Thanks again
