Default Truck Rides Rough after tons of work....

Hey guys whats going on. Ok here is the story.

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram SS/T with the 360L V8 Motor. Its 2wd.

It rides rough. For example: When im driving and hit little terrain its like im off roading. I could run over like city bumps and my truck jumps off the ground. On level road it still feels like its loose.

I have replaced the following:

Upper and lower ball joints on both sides,
Monroe Shocks Reflex on all tires,
Poly Bushings on lower control arms,
1inch lowering springs in the front,
2 inch lowering shackles in the back,
and I have Toyo Proxy's.

After putting on all of that it got just a little bit better.
Its driving me crazy.

Anyone know what else it could be?

I drove my buddys 96 ram and its a night and day difference. His rides so much nicer and its the exact same damn thing. He just has the 318. THATS IT...

Im getting so angry cause I cant fix it.

Lowering a vehicle makes it ride rougher, but I don't think that it should be "all over the road."

Could your anti-sway bars be messed up?

Reflex shocks are not the softest shock either. They are designed for performance not comfortable ride. If you compare them to Monroe's Stock replacement line (std gas charged) the reflex is much stiffer.

Reading the post I didn't catch what ratio tire and size you are running. The less side wall the stiffer the ride.

What brand of spring did you use. Some brands are stiffer than others.

Did you grease the urathane bushings when installing. They are stiffer than rubber and will tighten things up. If they were tightened the old fashioned way of tight as possible instead of using a torque wrench then that will also contribute.

Also to soften things up, put a set of cheap monroe matic shocks. If the springs are good quality the shocks are just controlling bounce so cheap may work better.

Well see my truck was riding rough befor I lowered it. i was thinking if I put all new stuff on it would fix it... but no it didnt. and the springs not sure of brand. im thinking about putting stock back on. its only 1 inch so yea. As for shocks, I have had cheap ones on, KYB Monomax's on, some other brand then the ones I have now and havnt seen a change at all. As for the bushings... Hmm im not sure I had them put on at a shop.

What should I look for on the sway bar? Should I replace the bushings and all the other pieces as well?

At this pointe I dont care anymore on how much it cost I just want the damn thing fixed! hahahaha

Thanks guys. Proud to be part of this Forum!

Try adjusting your power steering box first, and also just double check the fluid level just to be sure.

Those are a lot cheaper than throwing parts at it.

How do I adjust the steering box? My steering has gotten loose. Like i can move the wheel like two inches to the left and two inches to the right with out the tires turning.
