Sharp looking valve covers, except I couldn't spend that much on them. I almost got shot by the wife for what I spent on the Mopar Magnum Performance ones I did buy.

That was your first mistake, you let her see the bill or worse, told her!

Telling wife of truck bills = better have a comfortable couch!

Somehow my bills either get locked in glove box on the way home or burned!

I use the ten bolt design like the ones that Indy has...those are magnum Valve covers...I thought the LA's were for the older short blocks...no????

Thought I'd revive an old thread. ;-)

I've been researching online for ideas on painting valve covers. I like the black wrinkle style- just not the color. However, living in a tiny town like I do, I don't know of anyone who does powder coating.

However, I did find an interesting link during my search- and while not powder coating, it does heat treat the regular paint to resist cracking- using a regular oven.
http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=152099

If I was to use this method on new black wrinkle valve covers, would I have to sand the black wrinkle finish first, or could I just prime and paint over top?

Thanks.
