Is there no end to the madness?

Well this is the second gen. section. Most are 10 years or more old. Things wear out, get beat up, get corroded, rust, fall off, etc. Than if the maintenance was only done whenit brokefor whatever reason than it happens sooner. Stuff happens!!! Other vehicles have issues too.
You must have gone to Chesterfield now PearsonDodge on Midlothian. The last time I went there they replace the steering box and aligned the front end. A few days later my stepson was following me a thought my right front tire was leaning. Got home and jacked it up and noticed the wheel bearing loose/bad. Called them up to see how they aligned itlike that. Their response was that they don't raise the wheels off the ground to do an alignment. They drive on the rack and just shake the tires to check steering joints.They are supposed to be the certified mechanics????? Idiots.....

RM_Indy I think you are right. I wiggled the clips, removed them and reattached them, and although I could not detect any change in the idle the truck drove better than it has in months. I think only one cylinder was coughing in the test drive. I am going to try and find a set of those clips ASAP.
Should drop about 50rpms at idle if you wiggle the injector clip n loose connection.
If its the wires loose/broken going into the clip you need an injector test light to figure out the bad ones. If any show intermittant strobing of the injectors (test light) or if the connectors are bad (even one) I would change all of them. For $15 its less than an oil change (I run synth
)
Fingers are crossed for you granpa49

The "pros" don't always know or don't care. FWIW, my truck runs as smooth as silk.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this up. I broke about 3 of those little red retainers when I pulled the intake 6 months ago; they just crumbled in my hand they were so brittle. I ordered them immediately.
Just a question as it's hard to tell from the pics...are these a replacement connector, or an anchor housing that holds the existing connectors together? Do you just cut and splice in the new connectors on the wire looms?
My grandfather has a Dodge ram with the diesel, just a year or two before they changed the body style to our 2nd gens. It has over 350,000 miles and is still chuggin away, runs really well with no problems. The only major repairs that he has had done to it, I believe, is a couple things with the air conditioning.
