Default programmable features?

On a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab shortbed 5.9, are there any features that you can enable, disable, or change (such as auto locking doors, seatbelt chime, etcc., etc.,) by means of self programming ????

I believe your manual would be a good source for that info.

The auto locking doors can be turned on/off and the keyless entry "chirp when locked" can be turned on/off. Those are the only two I know of.

This would be good info to post for the people whose truck's previous owners did not see fit to leave their manuals in the truck.

I'd help you out Steamboat, but my manual was missing as well.

I think there is a combination to turn the auto locking doors off, they lock when the truck hits 15 mph. I think you have to turn the ignition on and off like 5 times within 10 seconds and hit the unlock button and then there should be a chime that tells you that they have been disabled. Its been awhile since I did that so I might not be exactly correct but thats close to the sequence.... Sorry I cant be a little more specific.

I have a 2001 grand caravan that I'm looking for the auto-unlock procedure on, and while the manual tells you how to enable/disable the auto-lock, it only makes reference to a section in the manual (which I found does not exist) for the auto-unlock, so.. while a manual may be a good source.. it apparently isn't a GREAT source.

First of all, Dreamland, you might want to look at the date of the thread you are replying to before replying. This one has been dead for over a year.

Second, the manual is never a great source, but definitely the first you should look at.

I did check the date, but figured people would still be looking through the threads or at least subscribed and would see the reply. Turns out I was right.

Not quite. The only reason it got noticed is because your response to it caused it to jump to the top of the forum. Not sure the RAMs have much in common with your Caravan, though.
