Dodge auto/ tranny cooler.
Well was reading around today.. I dont do much hauling(when i do it is heavy). The transcooling lines go into my radiator.. was wonder with all the autotrans problems would it be worth the investment/time to install.. and if it would be what are the best options?
where would I put it.. the front on the a/c panel. or behind on the fan side of the radaitor panel.. also, would I have to fill it? (because of air) or will it take care of itself?
I was on b&m's website I like there stuff and was wondering what size I should use for the electronically controlled tranny and I have a 318. Im sure I don't need a huge one but what size do people use.. and also I saw a trans temp gauge and it looks like it hooks to a cooling line can anybody tell me how they work?
This is the one I recommend: http://www.jegs.com/p/TCI/748659/10002/-1/10535
Check carefully first. Some of the trucks already have an external trans cooler between the condenser and radiator. You'l see two lines running from the radiator, to the external cooler, and back into the trans in this case.

Hmm...interesting. My truck has over 100,000 miles on the stock tranny cooler. I would rate it 95% daily driver and 5% tow the boat/small trailers. Should I replace it or upgrade it or should it still be just fine? I'm not sure what kind of life expectancy the stockers have.
Thats why I was wondering.. Cause when I tow shuff for work i know im over the rating.. and I want to do everything I can to keep the truck running. My only has lines in to the radiator and nothing else.. I have never had a light or warning chime come on, but when that happens your normally to late and something will be toast.. I like the cooler I saw on hometheaterman's truck.. I will spend the extra money just want to make sure that it will do something for me.

I really don't see why a transmission cooler would "go bad" unless it was damaged and leaks.
