Default cruise control doesn't work

My cruise controlwon'tstay on. When you turn it on it turns off like 2 sec. later. Sometimes i push the button and it won't even turn on. I don't even have time to see if it will hold the speed. It kinda seems like an electrical problem to me but i don't even know where to start looking. Thanks for any suggestions

Probably a bad clock spring.
Does your horn work?

You might try holding your toe under the brake pedal to ensure that it stays in the upmost position to ensure that your brake-light switch isn't getting falsely activated and killing cruise. When it dies does the green-light on the steering wheel control also go out?

I haven't noticed it at all. It might not even turn on.

My cruise has a simular problem. I found a solution by accident. After pushing the set button I gently manipulate the accel button and the cruise stays set at the speed that I pushed the set button in the first place. Don't know what is actually is causing the problem but at least the cruise is working. I'm a big cruise fan. Hope this helps.
