Default Fuel pump ???

This is my ordeal. Just bought a 2000 2500 5.9 gas 4x4. Now my fuel pump stays on after I turn the truck off. Do I need to replace to fuel pump or relay or what. I am undoing the negative batt cable so it wont drain the batt. It also has 135k on the clock. Any help is appreciated I am kinda stumped.

id check the relay. if the relay isnt cutting the pump off, the relay is bad.

In the PDC (power distribution center.) While the pump is running, just pull the relay and see if it shuts off. If it does not, something is seriously rigged...
