Default Universal Dynomax Cat.

I looked up a cat for my 96 Ram, and it came up with two possibilities:

Part Number: 15037
Dynomax Catalytic Converter: Stainless Steel; Universal; 2.282 in. Inlet/2.420 in. Outlet; 13.5 in. Length

Part Number: 15036
Dynomax Catalytic Converter: Stainless Steel; Universal; 2 in. Inlet/Outlet; 14 in. Length

the inlet and the length vary, so I was wondering how much it mattered. To me the inlet seems more important than the length, since they are univerasal.

I plan on combining this with a thrush glasspack, 28" in length and 2.5" inlet/outlet.

I went with this from summit it was reasonable and a direct fit and a piece of cake to install.

Same as above, cheap, and easy to install

Well, I do have to account for 67 + install. That might run me more than 200. IDK how the shops are around here. Inititally the direct fit is what I was gunnin for. Would a sawzall work on the exhaust pipe? I don't mind clamping on my muffler and post muffler pipe just to drive it to see if i like it, then have a shop weld whatever setup I do enjoy.

The other thing is that is a free flow cat and definatly improved my sound and power. But yes a sawsall will cut the pie easily.

I hate to sound like a noob and all, I just have to budget this out for the best bang for my buck. I think I can do with just the cat for now, but if I can make out cheaper buying that direct fit, then that's my obvious choice. Sounds like I have a little homework to do on costs for install's around here. I don't like the idea of clamping a universal cat on to those pipes off the intake manifolds.
