Default kegger intake mod

I have done a lot of searching on this topic and found the DIY for kegger mod and plenum gasket repair. I am looking for some insite on the Kegger MOD. I am starting to do my plenum repair this weekend. I am not sure if I should do the kegger mod as well. Somesay you will lose low end,I do not want that my low end is crap now because of plenum leak. I could not find anything confirming real MPG improvement. The only thing I found was MPG initually ipmroved, but then went back down. If anyone has gotten better lomg termMPG please tell me. I know fixingPlenum leak will improve MPG, but willmoding kegger be even better??????
Any advise would be great!!!!! TAHNKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!

What I am trying to say is what will give me the best peformance and best MPG????? Just repairing plenum gasket or Doing the Kegger mod as well as plenum gasket.

THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!

I did the kegger mod 2x and both times I did not really see any improvement or loss in mpg. what you will see is the motor will breath alot better up top, above 2800 or so rpms. When you need the extra power, it'll be there. not knowing whether you have a 5.2 or 5.9... 1.0" for a 5.2 & 1.5" for a 5.9. I experimented on the 2nd manifold with a .5" cut and could not tell a performance difference. If you want mileage (wont be much but your truck will run better)... fastman tb, 50mm for 5.2, 52mm for 5.9. If you search on my user name you will be able to find out what I did to my truck. when I got it, was getting upper 11's for mileage on the hiway (& city but mostly hiway) to low 14's with the same route. I did alot of mods to my truck looking for a good balance of fuel economy & performance... hope this helps...

+1 on the Kegger Mod. My truck idles so damned smooth you could probably balance a quarter on the air box and it won't fall. At high speeds, the power is there when I need it.

Wow my bell pan gasket was realy blown!!!!!!! I will post the pictures when I am done. I decited to replace the distrubitor while the intake is off, since I broke one of the bolts off a while ago when I changed the cap and rotor. It has been held on by xip ties and quick weld.

Question?? Are yu supost to put silicone one the end intake gaskets?? Or the belly pan? It dose not say anything about it in the intrructions. Also are you supost to put silicone on the intake bolts?? THANKS!!!!!

silicon on the little intake gaskets on the front & back of the block where the intake manifold meets the block & heads. it is to seal that area.

nothing is needed on the intake mani bolts. just make sure you use the right torque sequence... I recommend a 3 step torque to the final torque value...

You can use RTV on the gasket and i believe they have the torque sequence listed on the tsb for the plenum repair.
