its sort of hard to remove. one is a bolt (i think its the bottom), the other is a nut on a stud (i think its the top). there are some transmission lines in the way, but there is a hanger thing for them that you can unclip or remove or something. the torque on that top bolt/nut can be a killer. i used several 1/2 drive extensions to extend out to/or past the motor mount, where i could turn the pull handle. a 3/8 drive flexed too much, but the 1/2 in worked. once unbolted, i layed the starter on my chest to undo the wiring. good luck.

yeah it takes a bunch of extensions, once you do it a couple times is no big deal. it is a PITA though.

Takes one 3" extension and a contorted arm. Just try at it. I use a lot of force to get my big ol forearms in btwn the lines.

Self proclaimed bad-***, eh? Hmm, when I dropped my engine back in place, I don't recall much cursing to get the starter reinstalled.

Do enough wrenching on these trucks and you'll end up with forearms like Popeye. Just don't cheat and use air tools

get a pipe and put it on the end of your ratchet if you have room, it will give you more leverage. or, bump up to a 1/2 ratchetand break it off.
