I'd go buy yourself a few more quarts before you crack the pan open. Tranny fluid is cheap, and it would suck to be filling up and realize you're a few quarts shy and have to take a walk.

It can take up to 8, and in a few cases I've heard of it taking more.

Mine took about 8 quarts. I don't know why it took soo much more than normal. I just dropped the pan and filter but I did let it sit there and drain for a few hours while I modified the pan.

Also, if you don't have a great big catch pan for all of the fluid, try this. Get duct tape, a garbage bag, and the bucket you have available for the fluid. Loosen up the bolts on the tranny pan, enough to where you can remove them by hand, and now duct tape the mouth of the garbage bag around the tranny pan. This is so that when you undo the bolts they and all the fluid will be funneled into the bottom of the bag. Put the bottom of the bag in the bucket you got available and so long as there are no holes in your bag, you'll have a nice and easy time cleaning things up.

Thanks for the adivice!! :-) I got the Fram filter kit from Schucks auto supply, I noticed it came with two gaskets.. stupid question here, but why did it come with two gaskets? in case I messed up on the first one? or packaging error/

maybe one is for a different model tranny pan. Just use the one that matches best.

Is one rubber and one cork type? You want to use the rubber reusable gasket on these things.
