Trans problems????
I have a 97 dodge ram1500 4x2. My problem is that when my truck is in overdrive it makes a whinning sound from the transmission. Only when is in overdrive. what do you guys think it will be???
Im guessing you have a 4 speed auto with over drive?
you might want to turn overdrive off and get it checked out ASAP, dodge has been known for bad transmissions, if you have to replace it i would check into other compatable makers, stay away from a replacement.
Does this whinning sound go away after you slow down to 35 mph or lower?

I had mine overhauled because of a suspected OD gear being burnt out. Since then it's ran fine, just shifts a little weird, but that has more to do with me and the way my foot hits the accelerator in attempts to go fast or save gas, lol.
haha lol dude if you are experiencing wierd shift points or just tired of stock ones just get the ProComp Truck Computer upgrade downloader. it work great 3 stages, you can change shift points and shift firmness and get more horsepower and torque. i have it on stage 2 on my truck i get up to speed so much quicker and save a little on fuel. procomp is only one brand of course, find one that you like
