Escpecially with 35" tires and 4.10's. No way your getting 18mpg unless you have forgotten to calculate in the tire size (if your PCM is not changed for them).

Keeping your tires properly inflated and your highway speed under 65 will make the biggest difference in MPG and use your cruise control.

The Most I have evergotten is 15.5 MPG on the highway. If you can avoid ethanol blended fuels. That can cost you up to 10% economy

Well, I just calculated it. I took a big trip before the truck's rearend went. I drove 425 miles on one tank of fuel. Are gas tanks are 26 gallons I believe. So with that said, I got about 16.3mpg highway. So my mistake. I used to base that off of the head console, which is accurate most of the time.

lol, it's based on how many gallons you used, not how many gallons your tank holds. You don't calculate it on how big your gas tank is unless you drove it till you were completely out of gas. You need to calculate it on how many gallons you put back in to fill it up again.

Yeah when you fill up write down the milage and the gallons you put in. Thats what I do. Then the next time when you go to fill it up right it down again. Take the mileage you went inbetween the two and the gallons you put in it to fill it up the last time and divide the distance traveled by the gallons put in. That will give you your gas mileage. Silver however brought up a good point. You have 35"s and the speedo isn't set correctly for them so whatever you get for your gas milage will be off anyway since your speedo and odometer wont be correct. You should get a Hypertech or Superchips and program it so the speedo reads correctly.

Or go to a dealer and have them do it. They usually charge abou $35-$50, lot cheaper then a Hypertech or Superchips.

My apologies, you guys are correct, the TB spacer goes underneath, not on top. I guess thats the extent of how far I've looked into them, knowing that they don't work for us.

ORIGINAL: Boostl33k

Making the truck breath better in and out should help MPGs, With that said like the original poster I know im not gonna get 20+ MPG out of a 360 but I was asking real world experiance! To anyone that has replied in this thread have you had or do you have a TB spacer???? I would like answers from those that do or did! I know you cant believe everything you read and that some if not all the claims the manufacture makes is just hot air! TB spacers have been around since the days of carbs! I know that on carbs it can make a slight difference! So there is a possibility that it can on a TB. Yea getting a 52mm TB is the proper way to go about things but for those of us that cant shell out that kind of money on a whim needsomething a bit cheaper to improve performance and possibly MPGs. I average about 10.5 MPG right now and if I could boost that up by 1 or 2 I would jump for joy! I change my oil and do minor tune up stuff every 3000 miles if not sooner! Its cheap enough to do that, but I would still like something that might help with MPGs and throttle respnse and overall power!

With that said can someone with real world experiance with a TB spacer chime in or to the ones that have already made claims say if that do or did have one????
TB spacers have been around a long time, and they work on certain vehicles. But not 2nd gen Rams, or anything with a Magnum engine from what I've read, because they are port injected. Read past threads on this forum and others from guys who tried them. They don't work on our trucks.

And like others have said, if you think you're going to get 2mpg from one small, simple upgrade like that, you're dreaming.

As far as calculating MPGs, the others have it right Neon. You take how many gallons you just poured into the tank divided by your miles driven (thats about the only thing I use my trip odometer for). The computer's estimate on your console is a good way to get a general feeling for how much you're using at one moment, but I've found that they are never entirely accurate, regardless of vehicle.

I just filled my tank. I got 17.01 mpg. I did go over 400 on the trip odometer. I had a lot more in city driving this time around.
