interiors
is it normal to have a differnt colord headliner in your truck??? my interior is grey, but the headliner is tan. what gives?
also anybody done any customizing to thier interior? I am thinking of modifying some old sun visors i have to make them fit the truck and have a lighted mirror. and would like to do a few other things while i got it apart.... but not sure where i want to take it.
last but not least did they make a overhead compas/thermometer for the 98+'s I know they put them into 97's if so what all would be required to put one into my truck?

I'm not 100% sure what would be required, but I'm pretty sure it would be some pretty major wiring as I don't think it even comes with the wires in place if you don't have it equipped from the factory.
meh wirings not that big of an issue specially if i match the headliner to the rest of the interior (the rainbow has to go) finding a unit I think may be harder... then i'd also like to know where all the factory sensors and all that go.
I have a '98 1500 with the 40/20/40 split seat. The seat/truck had only 60k miles on it and the foam was flat, granted i am a bigger guy, but non the less I was sick of it. You may laugh and curse meoff this site but I actually installed a 2001 GM 40/20/40 split bench seat in my Dodge, I know, I know. But you know what, it almost looks like it belongs in there, the grey color matches and the truck now has 185k miles with the seat looking like the day i installed it. If you want to do this conversion you better be handy with welding brackets and have some time. Obviously the stock mounting brackets are scrap, and the seat is a perfect fit, other than the fact that it sits a little higher than the stock one, you get used to it. The best part is I have 5 cup holders now, 3 fromstock (I have a REAL truck 5 speed manual). Anyone want pictures just let me know, I will email them direct to you, I am new on this site and not the most computer literate.
I know on jeep cherokees even if it didn't come with the overhead console, the wires are still there and you can just plug in a console. The only functions you would have is the thermometer and compass, and maybe the trip timer. All of that is within the console. If you wanted the other functions I would think it would take a ton of work. But the wiring just to supply power to the console might be up there already.
I have an overhead cpmpass/temperature thing in my 98, so it should be for 98+s as well.

Isn't there a lot of wiring involved to add the overhead consoles if you don't already have one? Thats what I've alread heard although I've never done it. Anyway I have the same gray interior and I have a tan headliner.
well what the heck were the designers thinking??? fricken mismatch colors and stuff... it's bad enough the rainbow flakes in the seats and door inserts... grrr... I so think I am going to have to break my promise of not fancying this vehicle up too much
meh my whole world is wires... oddly enough for working in wireless telecom LOL so doing a few extra on the side is not the biggest issue, just something else to wire up and lace in.
does anybody know where the temp sensor is in the units that have the display? I saw a display in the u-pull-it today, but it was removed from the truck, so I couldn't trace the wiring back.... heck couldn't even figure out which truck it came from for that matter... and since it was out in the rain I decided to pass on it... for now. would any of the other chrysler products carry the same display? if so I could keep my eyes out for them while I'm at the u-pull-its, I just dont want to waste my time peaking into every chrysler truck thats out there while I'm looking for specific things for other vehicles.
