Engine BROKE!!!
Was driving to my girlfriends today, made a left turn started to accel. slowly and i hear a very loud metal on metal clanging.(was louder than my music which is pretty amazing). So i pulled over to check under the hood, and i have oil sprayed all over the underside of hood. Not sure what happend, checked my seals outside they seemed to be fine(headers nd such). Oil was all over pullies and belt. Threwoil on the hood id imagine. Not a good day for me, considering i was going over her house to help make up after a big fight [:@].
no, not that i could see. I sure hope it wasnt a rod though, wouldnt that make a one time loud noise instead of a constand sound when the engines on? Or a hole in the hood.

You don't have a big hole in the side of the block from a rod do you?

From what i saw pressure was fine, but as soon as i heard the sound the first thing i thought of was the crankshaft. Thats my best guess on what this is.

The crankshaft could be the cause of the noise, but something else broke to allow the oil to spray all over the inside of the engine compartment. I.e. block, oil pan, timing cover, the front of the crank could have broke and the damper is flopping around allowing oil out through the front seal, it's hard to say withot looking.
I used to have an old Ford F100 with a killer 390 in it. One day I heard this loud bang and my oil pressure bottomed out. I immediately shut off the engine and coasted in neutral to a stop. Come to find out, I had such high oil pressure (sometimes over 100) in the truck it actually blew the top of the oil sending unit off and it hit the underside of my hood. Nice little dent, but I took it as a bragging point for my engine being strong. That engine had the sensor in a similar location to our Magnum engines.
Check everything and find the hole where the oil is coming from. I've also heard of, and it's been a long time since I heard of this occurring, but I heard of oil filter casings that separated from the base. The outer casing causes a loud banging as it leaves the engine, but oil just spews everywhere. Yours doesn't sound like this since it's a constant noise though. Just throwing ideas out there for ya.
Good luck, but with oil everywhere it doesn't sound good to me. Like someone else here said, sounds like ya 'hand grenaded' the motor.

I hope its nothing serious, i need my truck within the next month for a road trip. That and i just really love my truck. Worse comes to worse though it would be nice to have a brandnew magnum 5.9 engine. But as soon as i find out what happend ill post it up.
