I keep hearing guys saying oh heavy duty transmissions just shift differntly and while I do agree mine is not at all unpleasent to drive. If Wayne can build one that shifts great at WOT but still great at normal driving why can't this shop? Waynes certainly is heavy duty and maybe moreso than this shops since they don't seem to be super eager to give him a build sheet where as Wanye gives you a detailed list of all the parts in his before you buy it.
Mine does shift a little harder out of first gear but it doesn't skip into OD and doesn't act weird. It does great imo but I will admit the shifts especially first to 2nd are a little harder but not enough that it's unpleasent to drive.
He needs to get a list of parts I've told him that and so have many other people but he doesn't seem to want to ask for it so oh well. Not a lot more that we can do to help him with it.
Anyway hope you like your new tires when you get them. Have you taken any pictures yet? I want to see some pictures. I bet it looks sweet as always.

I will defiantly get the camera over at my parents house today and shoot some pictures. I love the height of the truck, it suits me very well. The tire height is also perfect, it's just the tread and width of the tire that I don't care for. I like the Pirelli Scorpion ATR, but I don't think it fits on a dodge ram, it's too soft. It also gets very narrow towards the top of the tire, and does a good job sucking into the wheel wells. From the side it looks fantastic though. I'll take some pictures from the front and rear of the truck and then you'll know what I'm talking about. I think with the 12.50" wide tire, it will stick out like the mud tire did which was perfect, plus the procomp's tread will be much more aggressive compared to the scorpion. I was telling my brothers though, maybe it was the best thing that I chose a 285 first. Because now when I get the 33/12.50 on the truck, I'm going to really appreciate the tire now. I think had I chose the 33/12.50 first, I may have still been dissapointed because it still would have been smaller than the 35" tire. So now it's going to be a noticeable transition.
Got some good news. This morning I took my brother with me and went to the transmission shop with the 285s on. He came out to the truck to see if the lift and tires were off. He got inside the truck, and started talking to me. I told him I liked everything about the transmission. I said the unit is very strong and it feels good. I said the only thing I want fixed is the shift into overdrive. I told him that at any kind of medium throttle, it will stutter into overdrive. So without any hassle, he told me to drop it with them next Monday and that he'd need the truck for a few days. He told me he may have to put a different valve body inside the transmission. He also mentioned the hydraulic pressures having to be toned down a little bit as well. He told me I may be compromising a little bit of the performance of the transmission, but in my view I don't really care. I'd rather have a smooth shifting daily driver. Besides, I don't think I'll loose any performance, and I think this will fix any of the glitches the transmission will have, so I'm glad I finally got them to address the skip.
The other good news is I saw the new tires today. Right now I have 285/70/17 Pirelli Scorpion ATRs on my truck right now. They've actually begun to grow on me, but all and all they do look a little soft from the rear and front of the truck. So my decision to order the wider tire was still a good one. I went to VIP today because the tires had come in. And they look awesome. They are still a very big tire (33/12.5/17). And the procomp all-terrain tread is extremely thick and aggressive, looks awesome. It also has some pretty major side grips on the sidewall, should own in the winters up here. I'm just really hoping they are going to ride quite like they say they do. They defiantly weighed a lot though, they seemed to weigh just as much as my 35" tires, but it's still going to ride infiantly better. The truck is back down to stock height, it's a size down of a tire, and it's an all-terrain tire, so I still made some big improvements.
I'm loving the stock suspension though, it's very nice. You still have to do a leap to get into the truck, so it's still taller than normal, yet is realistic. It's so much easier to get into the truck, much more stable, and I can tow and work with the truck a lot easier. My mpgs just keep getting better and better too. I'm averaging 14 city, and 19-22 highway. I've gotten 185 miles to a half tank a fuel, I'm ecstatic about that! I think with the wider tire it will give me that aggressive look back, yet I'll enjoy all the luxuries of a smaller sized and smoother tire, as well as the control back because the lift off is off. Now I have to get the allignment done, the u-joint in the front replaced, and my a/c recharged, and I should be good to go!

Nah. I guess to me it's just not worth it. I'm not saying I don't care, but I don't think it's really going to help me. It's not like I would ever get them to take the transmission out or anything. I just want to be realistic. What if I were to get it and find out there were some parts that weren't heavy duty? I know they wouldn't disassemble it for me. Besides, it has a 3 year/70,000 mile warranty, if anything goes, it's their baby. I guess I can't see them putting a warranty on something that couldn't back that kind of a warranty up. I have gotten them to agree to fix the glitch in the transmission. If they can do this, then I will be one happy man, and I will leave them alone until it's time to have them do the transmission flush[8D]
I think the reason you should get a build sheet is not only so you know whats in it but so that when you have issues with it shifting hard like this we can more so tell you whats wrong with it. If we don't have a clue as to whats in it we can't really help you very much at all telling you if stuff is normal or not.
I'm getting the feeling you are starting to think like we are that you probably didn't get such a heavy duty transmission and are afraid to get the build sheet to find out.
If it was me I know I would want to know what I have even if I found out that I didn't have such a heavy duty unit that I thought I got I'd still want to know. Especially if I wanted to know if stuff it was doing was normal or not.
As for the warranty you did get a decent warranty however Japser also offers a good warranty and the few times I've seen them be put in cars or known people that had them put in they have all had problems so apparently they aren't that great.
I just don't see any harm at all in asking for a build sheet and I do see some good it could do plus it will give you the piece of mind as to knowing what you have.
If they are a reputable shop they would be more than happy to provide you with a build sheet. If they don't want to provide it they are more than likely a shady shop anyway. Any good shop wouldn't mind if you asked for one and would be more than glad to give you one. Infact most quality shops would have already given you one.
Are you getting a transmission flush or a fluid and filter change?

damn shame not knowing , every customer we have gets a detailed bill , even if its only a oil change , weight , qrts , filter and next oil change ,
Hell even i have a detaild bill on the trans rebuild , just incase i sell it (proof) even have one on the lift , body lift , rims , tires , and oil changes ....
This mite mean nothing but sell the truck/car with no proof of anything and see what looks you get...

I'm hoping everything with the OD skip job goes well, but I'm afraid they will screw it up even worse.
