need help no power

hi im in need of help i have a 96 ram 1500 4x4 it has 35's on it and i have no power to turn them . i put in a new motor in it last year its a 360 bored over 30 . i think i need to re gear the axles but i dont know what gears to put in . its my daily driver so i dont want it to low but i want to feel the power it should have . im waitin to play in the mud

I would say 4.56's since its your daily driver. But if you tow or wheel regurlarly 4.88s would be a much better choice. Also if there is any chance that you will ever go bigger then 35's I would say go ahead and get the 4.88's

ok i stopped at a shop today to see what it would cost to regear my truck and they told me $2300.00 and they would replace all moving parts . and they also said i should go no higher than 4.10 or i wont be able to go over 55 . i dont know what to do

CP, I don't think that shop knows what they're talking about. Take it to a local 4wheelparts . Will probably cost about $1600-1800. They can recommend a good ratio for that truck. There are many rpm calculators on the net. The people here will know more about what RPM range works for them.

Hmmmmm .. i have 4.56 gears and it goes well past 55 mph.. amazing what some shops will say , 4.56 kinda a odd gear so if you would bail on them leaving them stuck with that gear will be harder to sell so if you bail on a 4.10 gear , then thats easier to sell then the 4.56 ... Some places want you to have at least half down payment for that reason ...

you have a good point about the 4.10 gear would be alot easier for them to sell. so the 4.56 feels like a good gear in your truck it gets up off the line alot better not slow like mine.
