Default Fastman TB

I am thinking of getting a new throttle body and i was wonder what size to go with? I was looking at the fastman tb and they have the 50mm and the 52 mm, which one would be best for my truck. I have a 98 ram with a 318 and there is a CAI and a superchip on it.

Isn't the 50mm usually recommended for the 318 and the 52mm for the 360?

Yes.. in general, the 50 is recommended for the 5.2L...the 50 works well on both.... but you can use the 52mm on the 5.9L. I am running it. Anything bigger then the 52mm is not recommended unless some significant modifications have been made.. ( like a cam, bigger heads, fuel injectors..etc..)

When I bought my Fastman, Dan installed it himself. We talked about the fact that I had planned on replacing the 318 with a 360, but was doing so for towing performance not raw horsepower.

His recommendation was the 50mm for the 318 and for my 360 for towing. The 52mm would lose me a little torque down low for pulling.

However, that being saidonce my 4.10 gears are in I am going to upgrade to the 52mm to match the rest of my setup. The 4.10's will like the larger tb.

yah i sort of thought the 50 mm was the right one to go with but i wasn't positive. Is there any other throttle body's that anyone would suggest that are good for the 318 besides the fastman.

You may find some just as good, but they will be a lot more expensive. Holley makes some, for example, but they cost about twice as much as a Fastman.

The Fastman's TBs, IMO, are the best. I have not heard a single bad thing about them.
