Magnaflow Cat

No big deal. No offense intended either, its not your fault. The change must have not been well documented. My Meineke guy didn't know about it, so why would you?
EDIT: zman, the 95506 is longer, and only has 2.5" inlet/outlet. That would be smaller then the inlet, which means more restriction, how would that fit better or be better? If you see my pic, a 3" converter is a perfect size match for the y-pipe.

Oh but I did know.As I posted earlier, the only difference would be by the engine code/production date. The only thing that I missed was the pics showing that he had that set up.
But no offense on my part either.

Well I bet he's really confused now! LOL By the time time he gets it taken apart and welded back together he could have just got a direct replacement magnalow and done it himself.

HAHAHAHA.Yea,im sure his head is spinning now.
Sorry for my newness at this internet thing.I have to learn to read all posts before replying.
LOL! Sometimes I read too quickly and miss stuff as well . Atleast he has the 94109 coming so I;m sure the muffler shop can make up the three inches. And he doesnt have to return that too or worry about any difference with performance.
I understand what Jason W did was exactly what I originally was thinking. I didn't see why you couldn't do that but I figured maybe it wasn't enough space or something to weld the new cat onto before the o2 sensor and thats why you were saying it wouldn't fit. Looks from his pictures that it is. I ended up being able to cancel my order for the 94037 so that I don't have to pay a restocking fee or anything for that luckily. I just have the 3" in/out cat coming to me. The only difference is the one I got was 13" long not 16" like the one Jason W has. I don't see how this would be a problem as the exhaust guy can add some pipe.
The only thing I have to get him to do now or should anyway is put a reducer or something on the outlet of the thing somewhere in the pipe. Right now I basically have a cat back. He put a new pipe on coming out of the cat and it is 2.5" and goes into the muffler as 2.5" then I have dual 2.25" pipes coming out as thats what I wanted. Is it any reason not to just put a reducer to reduce it from 3" to 2.5" I really don't want to have to buy a new muffler. Thats the only reason I say that I'd want to him to use a reducer. I couldn't get ahold of him today so will hopefully get intouch with him soon and see what he says.
I would have gotten the direct replacement as usually I get stuff like that but on this truck I wouldn't have been able to install it anyway as the pipe I have now is welded on at the outlet of the cat and basically it's all welded together. I'd have to cut it off and then weld it back. I don't want to clamp it. I have a welder but am not the best with it and not sure I would be able to get it to stop leaking. The only exhaust welding I've done is when a tip broke off I welded it back on when I had my old exhaust setup. It lasted fine until I got the exhaust redone.
Basically I think this 3" in/out cat will do what I want.

I know what you meant. I looked at those but they were expensive and I still would have had to have someone install it as after the cat is all welded up anyway so it wasn't like it would save me labor. I could install it then just have someone weld it up but that probably wouldn't have been that much cheaper.
Did you guys with these notice it get any louder or raspier? I have read some people say they made the trucks louder and raspier and that gutted ones especially do. I'm hoping It doesn't but I have a feeling it will. I don't really like the really raspy sound I hear in some videos. I like a deep rumble and mine sometimes now is too loud but most of the time perfect. I hope it doesn't get much louder but if it does I guess I can live with it.

The only difference you'll notice is it's gonna be louder.
And BTW, do not install the 02 sim until you drive it and see if it throws a code.

Being that the ones Summit sells are the CA legal models which is what I got as I wanted to deal with Summit will it still be better performance wise than stock or will it be just as bad since it's the ca model?
