Has anyone tried installing a inline fule filter on these trucks.
I was thinking of placing itright by the transmission where the hard fuel line is connected to the flexible part. Disconnect the lines and find a filter that would have a male and female ends so it would plug in right in line.
Has anyone try finding such a fuel filter?
Any help appreciated

 

What would be the point in doing so? The in tank filter takes the abuse, and when it gets clogged the second one is just there for looks.

 

Just for the ease of servicing - You want to change the filter just get under your truck and pull the old one off and install the new one.
Droping the tank or taking off the bed to get to this assembly is just plain PITA.

 

The factory (for life ) filter can(and will)let a lot of debris pass through it. I think a finer secondary filter is a good idea but I can't say I've ever seen an easy to install kit.

 

The fuel pressure regulator is supposed to act like a "last line of defense" fuel filter. Look for my engine build threads and you'll see what my old regulator looked like. IMHO, a filter by the transmission wouldn't hurt, especially after I saw how I had three plugged injectors.
