Default 01 Single Front o2 sensor

My truck has a single o2 sensor infront of the cat. I want to change it just for piece of mind as it has a lot of miles on it. Most sites list 2 for a 01 model but mine only has one. One dealer I called said if it was made after 7 of 00 they changed it and since mine was 5 of 00 it was a different setup. Mine is a 01 but was made in 5 of 00. Each dealer seems to give me a different part number. I basically am thinking I want to go through a parts store anyway. Is the one from a 2000 the same? Is that what I want to get or is it something that was only used in 01's? I think i'm going to just put a simm in the rear if I can get it. It's on backorder now. Thanks guys.

I got the run around from the local parts stores, nobody could match it up right and the bosch connector didn't even fit the harness. ended up ordering from Summit and saved some coin in the process

Go to summitracing.com and get an NTK one, you won't have the harness issue I did:

So is that the one that works with the 01's that have only 1 front sensor? Is NTK a good brand? I've not heard much about it but want the best I can get on here.

BTW is that a universal one where you have to wire it up or is it one that you plug in directly? Wiring isn't a problem but I've just not heard good things about the univerasal ones so just wanted to make sure that it's a direct fit one.

Thats what I was thinking about doing but figured I'd wait until after I got the new cat on. However if that ones if for sure the one that will work it would be nice as I have a $25 gift car to Summit I forgot to use on the cat. Plus the summit one is about $20 cheaper anyway.

I believe the only things you need to know is the length of the wire and if it has a gray or black plug on the end. The black plug will not go into a grey mating plug and vise versa. This is mainly so you dont use the front one in the rear. When I changed mine a few weeks ago the PO had cut the little tab inside the plug to make it fit ! So I had a rear one in the front or the other way around I dont remember right now.

WOW! I think longer posts are working now, lol Thanks for fixing it. And once again sorry for my rant a couple weeks ago.

Bump. So anyone know if that is a universal one or a direct fit one for these trucks? I like the idea of Summit as I have the giftcard. It's cheaper too so I'd way rather order that if it's a direct fit. I don't see that it says anywhere.

If you click the link Aim supllied. then click on the part #, then click Check to make sure this part fits your application, it looks to be a direct fit.
