Default Transmission Temperature Sensor

Ok, I have to replace the trans temp sensor, but I can't find it. Can anyone tell me where I can find it and how to get to it?

if its the 5.9 remove the alternator its the thing with wires to the right of the gooseneck where the top radiator hose goes. id replace the t stat while ur at it

I wish I were so fortunate. My ram has the 5.2. Is the sensor in the same place?

yup should be in the same spot.. one thing... i just replaced mine and my old unit had 2 prongs ..the new one advanced auto gave me only had 1 ...and its not working so i would check it out make sure you get the new one with 2 ...or maybe i dont have it connected good enough...just a lil warning..i could be wrong about that tho

I mite be wrong , buttttt why would a trans temp sensor be on the block ??? wouldnt it be somewhere around the trans ??? I mite be wrong but i doubt it..

haha you r so right and im so wrong..i was thinkin just plain old temp sending unit...guess i should go back to 1st grade an learn to read

Mounted to a tube left side above trany pan.
