Here goes nothing..
Hey my APS doesn't have no warranty. It has a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty. The fastman does only have a 30 day warranty though.
So are you saying if you had to do this again you still would have gone the same route you did instead of going with something quality like APS?

Yeah, I still wouldn't have bought something over the internet. I'm not saying APS isn't top notch, but something like that would be unheard of in my family. I was taking a loan out, so the last thing my parents would have wanted me to see, was taking all of that money and sending it over the internet. Although I spent A LOT of money, I have the luxury of taking it to the shop that is very close to my house. Once they fix this last problem, the transmission appears to extremely nice. I think they did a poor job adjusting it properly, and weren't taking the time to listen to what I was saying. Yeah, I did spend a lot of money, but I also got a lot out of it. It has the big warranty on it, the deep transmission pan, and the oversized transmission cooler. I feel once I get the truck back and if they do fix the sticky pedal in overdrive, I'll be in a healthy position. It's too bad the experience of getting a new transmission had to be soured, but I'm almost there in redeeming it. Transmission should be perfect by this week, then next week I'm having my exhaust rerouted to go out the back, then the following weak she is being detailed. Should be the cherry on the top on all the crap I've dealt with since winter.
There is nothing wrong with sending thousands of dollars "over the internet" to a legit business, especially when you know you are getting a quality product built for what you want it to do. Now if you were sending it to an untested, unknown business no one had ever heard of before, or that had gotten a lot of bad reviews, of course you wouldn't want to do it.
You would have had a lot less hassle, a nice warranty, and a great guy available by phone for your questions if you had gone with an APS transmission, which is new. Or you could have went with a Dr. Evil performance rebuilt transmission, they're good too. Instead, you spent the same (if not more) money for a rebuilt transmission that you have no idea of the build quality, and the guys obviously don't know what they are doing or don't care. If they did, it would have been right the first time, or at worst the first time you brought it back. They mislead you, refuse to give you a build sheet, and treat you poorly. You still believe them that its "heavy duty" and think all thats worth it, because they are local?
Just my two cents, and no offense intended, but I think you are still trying to give yourself a confidence boost over the transmission. The same reason why you didn't push the build sheet issue with them.

I don't know why some of you guys to choose to give the transmission the benefit of the doubt. If I'm happy, then you guys should take my word for it. Telling me that it's **** or I should have done this or that isn't very helpful to me, it's in the past. Besides, as I said before, I'm getting the build sheet this time, I asked for one again. Here in southern Maine, New England Transmission is extremely popular. They sponsor many of the built drag cummins, powerstrokes, and duramaxes at the track. It seemed to be the best place to go to, they understood trucks with big tires, and understood performance. Yes, they treated me poorly, and didn't fix the kinks out in a timely manner, but I kept on them, and now I'm just finally getting to enjoy the transmission. We'll know when I get it back what is in this transmission, and I'll report it here.
I am not telling you its ****, I'm just telling you that you have no real idea. Sure, they sponsor all those big dogs, but those big dogs paid them a lot of money too. Maybe they don't care about the small fish. $4000 compared to a drag machine ain't nothing.
You can ask for it until you're blue in the face, they have to give you one. They should have done so when you first asked. I'm glad your happy with it, and I'm not saying your truck is going to blow up or is ugly or anything, but come on. Popular and best advertised doesn't always mean the best.
Example: Just because Dell builds massive gaming computers for show, and for sale, doesn't mean that all their computers are good. In fact, they are far from it. If you recall, I work at Best Buy, and Dell computers are the most commonly returned/exchanged computers in the store due to failures. You pay for the Dell name, and they still crap out on you.
I hate to rain on your parade, but you got screwed. Plain and simple. It might work fine for 3+ years, but you still got screwed for the amount of $$$ they charged you. I hate to be negative, but you keep on acting like it was worth it. That wasn't your tune a little while ago when the transmission and the tranny guys were giving you so much trouble.

As long as your happy. Performance shops are like that. The average consumer gets treated like crap where race teams and high paying clients get the royal service. As long as you got what you wanted in the end there is nothing to complain about. I'm glad to hear you finally got your truckto performthe way youlike it.
Yup I'm not sure I agree with him on the logic of it being worth it since they are local but when it comes down to it it's his truck not mine or yours or anyone elses but his so if that's what he wants to do it's his truck and his money. As long as he enjoys it that's all that matters. Hopefully things will start turning out good about it for him. I just can't imagine having to go through all this to get it properly working. I'm glad I didn't have to go through this all and I feel sorry for him.
BTW that's what I like about APS. Some shops may do that where they treat their big customers better than average ones but I can't imagine APS treating me any better than they did. I might not have been a huge customer although I wouldn't say I was a small one. I bought a transmission and a pleneum kit. I would like a APS throttle body but they no longer make them. Anyway anytime I call him to ask a question or anything I just get treated like a friend and he is always more than willing to tell me tips on how to do it and asks that if I ever have any more questions that I call and ask. He just treats me like I'm his number 1 customer even though I'm sure I'm probably not. Thats what I like so much about him and the main reason I like them soo much.

Actually, from what Wayne has told me, that 2 year unlimited mileage warranty also covers racing and offroad abuse, not just daily driving. I can hardly wait to being able to get mine ordered. Shouldn't be too much longer now...fingers are crossed...
